Forgot to add that it will be just one of several ships in the picture.

What look are you going for? mechanical organic mix like Lexx? I like the design but I think the dish type protrudence on the front isnt nessasary maybe just a couple of feelers/antenee?? Anyway pretty cool :)

That's a fantastic looking ship. Is it full of dust mites? LOL 8^) Can't wait to see the rest of your composition.

Well, yeah, I was thinking about mouth-like protrusions and then created this weapon dish. I'll probably get back to the mouth. The ship is, like usual with me, a mix of several things. First, a very vague reference to an organic-looking ship in A Fire Upon Deep, if you've read that. (And if you haven't, you definitely should. One of the best books to come out in the Nineties.) Maybe Startide Rising, too. Plus possibly to Stan Sakai's Space Usagi. BTW, I didn't get the references to Lexx or dust mites. :-)

Looks like an abandoned wreck just floating around in space waiting for someone to come along and salvage it (isn't that what Neelix was doing on "Voyager" before he became a crew member?) so maybe you could base your final pic on something of that nature. Haven't seen much of Lexx, but I think their vessel was actually a living organic creature that they traveled around in. And it actually does look a little like photomicrographs of dust mites. Great design...looking forward to the end product. Please post any wips you're comfortable showing off here.

Erlik it did look like a giant dust mite to me so I was being a wise ass. Please do not take it personally as I really do like your ship.

I like your design! Some of my favorite ship designs are biomorphic in concept.

Yes, tjohn, that's exactly what it is. A wreck. I didn't take offense at the ship being compared to dust mites, I simply didn't know what you were talking about. Now I see. And I like the comparison, because it means I got it right. :-)
