Subject: converting obp's to anything else :)

i saw some really good looking things in bryce free stuff (houses and other objects) but they were in .obp format. can bryce export this to say, .obj or .3ds? texture doesn't have to be exported but if it works, the better! thanks!

no - exports terrainss, lattice and stone

If you import the obp and click edit (e) and than control + D and you can save it in a bunch of formats including obj and 3ds. Hope this helps?

Creations: Will this work on obp's that are made of Bryce primitives, though?

I just tried that myself. You can only save previously imported meshes to the other file types by that method. There is zero way to export objects made from bryce primitives. Atleast that is my understanding

As far as I know it only works with obp's that you import.

You can only export something if it doesn't contain Bryce primitives, booleans, metaballs, trees, etc. Only things that can be exported are imported meshes, terrains, rocks & lattices.

Creations : OBP is Bryce's native format, no other 3D app supports obp at this time. The only way to import or export an obp, is through the create library, the create library only imports/exports obp. aleks: if the obp, uses no Bryce primitives, then the mesh can be exported via the Ctrl, D trick. You can tell if there are any Bryce primitives in the group, because there will be no E icon if there is.

Does Crossroads still come as freeware with a short half-life, and shareware that must be paid for, or a free version that lasts forever? I am a cheap b******d and will only pay for things I just can't live without. Also, I have no credit cards, so I can't buy on line. Just personal principles, the only money I will borrow is for buying a car. I loathe being in debt...I learned this at my parents' knees and it has worked well for me so far (I'm 49). Everyone else must follow their own path, you understand.
