when doing a conform to with Anton's Wizard Robe the abs & chest go wacky (see image) here's the PHI: objFile :Runtime:Geometries:Anton'sPeople:WizardRobe:WizardRobe.obj #------------------------------------------------------------------- # A Full hierarchy for a wizard robe #------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 hip yzx 2 abdomen yzx 3 chest yzx 4 lCollar xzy 5 lShldr xyz 6 lForeArm xyz 4 rCollar xyz 5 rShldr xyz 6 rForeArm xyz 2 shins yzx Any suggestions??

There is no matching body part "shins" in the Poser figure. The robe's shins will have nothing to conform to.

The robe originally was only posable, not conformable. I made it conformable by editing the male tux cr2 and having it point to the .obj Anton gives. However, as Phil said the shins were a problem. What you can do is take it into uvmapper and assign two groups as lshin and rshin I think. Resave this obj and it should work. It did for me although I seem to have lost a morph target. The morphs for the collar have remained intact though.

I noticed there are no thighs either. Can I have shins w/o thighs?

So what is the solution? If any? I'm not savvy on phi's yet and making conforming clothes. James

using UVMapper, I created groups for the thighs (lThigh & rThigh) and both shins (lShin & rShin). then I saved it has WizardRobe2.obj in the geometries folder. than I remade the PHI as follows: objFile :Runtime:Geometries:Anton'sPeople:WizardRobe:WizardRobe2.obj #------------------------------------------------------------------- # A Full hierarchy for a wizard robe #------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 hip yzx 2 abdomen yzx 3 chest yzx 4 lCollar xyz 5 lShldr xyz 6 lForeArm xyz 4 rCollar xyz 5 rShldr xyz 6 rForeArm xyz 2 lThigh yzx 3 lShin yzx 2 rThigh yzx 3 rShin yzx now what happens in Poser4 after doing a "Convert Hier File" command and create the new cr2/Figure, I load the new figure and nothing appears. there are body parts for the new figure but nothing is visible at all please advise

I'm not so sure you can do this in UV mapper, but I gather Kalypso has done it- what Poser expects is that the groups have duplicates of the vertices at the joint, one for group. Poser is also very, very fussy about anything in the IK chain, you run into all kinds of the problems when what you are doing breaks it's (undocumented) rules. However, the rest of the parts should still show up, and Poser will let you know if you did any of the obvious things, like have the obj name in the wrong case.

I've been having this problem as well. It finally occurred to me to look here for the solution :) So, has anyone actually solved it? Or is this just something we need to deal with? This lurker appreciates the assist, Mike Hoyt

It is my guess to export the whole robe & regroup it. Rather than the orig group plus my UVMapper groups, which may not even be legal.
