I've been playing around with the P5 material room, and made this simple model in Rhino. I like how it's turning out so far. It actually has two material sections: The inner and the outer. Inside the first mesh of the sword is actually a scaled down version of that piece, allowing for two different materials. I made the materials myself - the outer one is my 'Ice' texture and the inner is my 'lava' texture. Comments? I'm slowly working on a package with energy weapons, possibly shields, and energy projectiles ala Dragon Ball Z.

That's a neat effect. Will the materials be animated? It looks almost exactly like the weapon I conceived for a 3rd Edition Dungeons & Dragons character last year, although in my case it was an axe-blade. I could bore you to death with the details, but I shall be merciful this time. :)

I don't know how to animate materials yet :)

Tirjasdyn: Good eye ;) . I modeled it after Ryoko's blade. I tried Kagato's, but I couldn't get it to look right. I got the entire Tenchi OVA series on DVD for Christmas ;) . I've been a Tenchi fan for years. Heh.
