Subject: Rearrange pose files Poser 4?

I want to rearrange my pose files because they are getting so long it is tedious to keep scrolling to the bottom. Is it possible to move the most used to the top? I can do this with figure files by relabeling them a-zebras, a-wart hogs, etc. in explorer, shutting down and reloading, and then they become alphabetized not only in explorer but in my on screen library list. But this does not seem to work with poses. Hmmm. Instead the renamed files go to the bottom with other new files. Yet if I buy something from DAZ, then it does seem to go in aphabetical order. If I use the regular add category feature poser still puts the new ones on the bottom. Any suggestions or insights?

I've noticed that anything that's in lowercase ends up on the bottom of the list regardless of the library it's in but if the first letter is capped it shows up in it proper place in the alphabetical list. BTW, I'm on a Mac so windows systems may be a bit picker 'your mileage may vary'

Why shouldn't speech be free? Very little of it is worth anything.

I Use the shift 1 that looks like this ! then a space and it always push's the folder to the top . Or commonly called the explanation point .

Poser uses a totally different collating sequence from Windows. I think it's more like Unix and it is case sensitive. And XP has some subtle differences over previous Windows versions. So it can really drive you nuts when you're trying to organize using Explorer...especially if you're new to either Poser or XP. Ascii isn't ascii. LOL. And this from someone who used EBCDC for years (been so long I can't even spell it anymore). So putting things in order in my Poser folders is a real trial for me. So basically what Charlie said. Lower case comes after uppercase (backwards) in Poser. Also '_' comes AFTER everything else, not before. But '!' always goes to the head of the class.

Or commonly called the explanation point . Uhhh... It's called the "exclamation" point. In ascii, upper case letters come before lower case letters. The exclamation point, and a number of other special characters come before any letters, and the underscore comes after the capital letters. So it all makes sense that the name sorting is the way it is.

Use caution when using special charactors. I am about to go postal over people using special chars in their file names- it has totally screwed up my back up and archiving system on my server and 2 workstations.
