I am working on a character for V3 for use in an image . This is just a test render to see how it looks and to try out my new Photoshop 7 upgrade I got for Christmas . I think I'm getting better at drawing hair .

She looks quite saucy! Looking forward to seeing your new character.

You DREW that hair?!?! Well, I'm impressed. Wish I could do so well. (The only thing you have to worry about, well, besides actually drawing the hair, is the shadows. Not sure which direction your light is coming from--upper right, I think, but it seems some shadows are needed. I think shadows are one of the reasons peoble draw their hair behind the shoulders and head so much...grin)

Now that you mention it Chuck , your right , I forgot the shadows for the hair . Oh well , thats why this one was a practice image . I'm still not satisfied with the way I do hair but I'm getting better . One thing I have to watch is stiffness . You can see it a little on the left side ( your left not hers ) . I paint with solid colors first and then touch it up and smudge it , smudging doesn't always work so well though .

Please don't get me wrong...'cause I certainly DO hate to "intrude" on a darn good job of hair painting. I didn't even notice the left side, as you mentioned. Unless Hollywood has sent hair people to get her ready, hair isn't going to be perfect. But take a look around at painted hair...a lot of it is behind and rarely bangs...which hardly ever lays flat against the head (which means very slight shadows, possibly). You have done really great here...please be sure to show us more stuff...hair painting is something I like to see and wish I could do.

That's the way my Mom used to cut my bangs! ; )
