Subject: Skin problems in creating new face map

I'm trying to create a texture for Michael's head, but am having a difficult time with it. My biggest problem in getting a good repeating skin texture from the face I have. The rubber stamp doesn't seem to be doing a very good job. Or maybe I'm just not doing a good job with the rubber stamp. Any help would be appreciated.

I think I might use the clone and smear tool for around the face....but who knows I don't usually do faces. Sharen

My suggestion is to select an average colour value from your photo, paint with it, then add noise from the Filters menu (assuming you're using Photoshop). IMO, you'd be as well getting rid of most of the shading from your pic, too. Real people don't come ready shaded. ;)

If you have Photoshop 7, you can use the healing tool to add underlying grain and textures. It's a wonderful tool.

I'm with SamTherapy. I would match the skin color, do a flood fill with the rest and add noise - just a little bit, not too much. Laurie
