Has anyone heard any new news about PoserStyle? Have they found a new host for the site? I had gotten the indian and they were working on an update for it because of problems, but That's when the site went down and I haven't been able to get the update yet. Thanks Cherokee

Just wondering that myself. Can't believe they haven't gotten their site back up yet, it's been close to a month hasn't it? I wish they would at least pop in now and then and give us an update. Marque

Oh yeah, an update would be cool. At least we'd know they were still around and not left us high and dry.

They have been sending e mails out, haven't you gotten any of them? Send me an IM and I will give you the e mail address to write to and find out about the releases :)

The last e-mail I got from them (from whwhitney) was on 1-3 - here's the meat of it:

For those of you that have not yet been informed, PoserStyle has been down due to server related issues that are in the process of being resolved. We made this known to as many of our members as we were able to through the use of the Renderosity forums. Because of circumstances beyond our control we were not able to contact all members via email so we were at the mercy of waiting for some members to contact us. For the short term we will send links to current and previous releases. We have been in the process of doing this, but the reliability of the method we chose was not sufficient. We have resolved that issue.

We have enclosed a link to last weeks release (PS-Air Hopper-9000x). [removed by Lucy_Fur]

This weeks release:
(Mike Cyber Fixer) [removed by Lucy_Fur]
(Mike Cyber Fixer Textures) [removed by Lucy_Fur]

These links have no bandwidth limitations or expiration date. Additional links will follow.

When the site returns all members will be given subscription extensions that will more than make up for the pain and suffering caused by our downtime. 8^)

We thank you for your support and patience.

The PoserStyle Team

Thanks for posting! I wonder why I amnot getting any e-mails? Diane

cherokee69 ( ) posted Sun, 05 January 2003 at 12:33 PM

I'm not getting email either.

Same here, and my sub still has five months left on it.

cruzan ( ) posted Sun, 05 January 2003 at 1:20 PM

email webmaster@poserstyle.com - I hadnt received emails either and I had just signed up a few weeks before server went down. They are extending subscriptions once this problem is worked out and they got back to me asap with the above letter shown by lucy_fur. Good Luck!

cruzan ( ) posted Sun, 05 January 2003 at 1:21 PM

As a PS - the webmaster should get a copy of your receipt for membership. Sorry didnt preview before sending.

Marque ( ) posted Sun, 05 January 2003 at 4:28 PM

Me either. Marque

What I'm curious about though is if they have an estimate for when they will be up again. And how are we supposed to know what to ask for? Thanks, Marque

cherokee69 ( ) posted Sun, 05 January 2003 at 5:11 PM

Not sure about any of this. I've sent 2 emails to 2 different addresses, one is listed above and the other is Ward Whitney's MSN email, and I haven't gotten any reply from either of them. Kind of makes you wonder.

Lyrra ( ) posted Sun, 05 January 2003 at 5:52 PM

They do read the forum here, so if you cannot get through to them via email, you can IM JoeLeGecko, or whWhitney (I may have my capitalization all messed up). Just don't hassle the guys too much, they're trying to get stuff fixed. Lousy timing for them too, right at holiday season.

Marque ( ) posted Sun, 05 January 2003 at 6:22 PM

I'm not hassling anyone, just trying to get some information. Marque

They do indeed read the posts here. In a previous thread a couple of days back I posted in answer to one of Mr. Whitney's posts and he not only responded, but sent me the link to download the current offerings. I THINK(?) there was mention that they could not get access to their subscription list - or some such - and needed people to contact them. They even apologized for taking a day to get back to me. And, yeah, lousy timing is right, but I don't think they could help it. Just my $.04. Larry F

No, I think they did it on purpose...lol I will email them to find out what the newest stuff is and either wait for it or have them email me. One of the worst things about doing business on the net, no matter how well you do business you are at the mercy of the person hosting your site...oh, and let's not forget the winter storms that can take everyone down. Marque

Marque - I would guess that once they read your email - hopefully you've indicated that you've not gotten an email from them yet - that they will send you all links that you may have missed since the site went down. thinks positively

In any case, once it's back up, I'm sure you'll be able to access everything as before. :)
