Firefly draft mode (or any mode for that matter) Rendering in a new window, using all the bells and whistles of the render options menu (playing around). The render status window goes away after a while, but the render isn't finished. Does it continue without the window, or is it hanging? I can't tell if it's like the cloth room where it looks like the cloth reverted but when the sim finishes it's fine and would hate to waste yet even more time tossing out perfectly good scenes because it looks like they've crashed but haven't (did that make any sense?)

It crashed. That happened to me too, never could figure out what happened.

that happened to me also and my computer had frozen (I was using dynamic hair in a render with several hi-poly models). I just pressed the restart button and everything was fine the next time.

Happened to me also. After a reboot, it went all right. I figure the reboot cleaned up my computer's memory... Which OS are you working with ?

I use win2k pro Marge

Same with me. I think it's the memory that's not clearing well enough after some time. I've just downloaded a utility to keep it fresh (maxmemi) but I'm not sure yet it works for 2000 pro. I'll see if it works.

Thanks I will wait to hear the info. I use memturbo now, but I am always up to learning about a new utility. Marge

I'm on Win2k pro and while there is a slight pause after the render slider finishes before the window refreshes, its always refreshed within a few seconds. However, I have noticed lately that it takes way longer to load objects now. Dunno what the problem is. I recently upgraded from a 1.4 to a 2.1 chip so I thought it would be faster on the render. Not so. Bryce is faster, everything else is faster, but Poser is still the same old slow hog it always was. Guess its time to get more ram. Have a half gig right now.
