At wits end, all of a sudden when I down load a freebie from here it goes to a tempory fill and does not ask me where I want to send it like it did up till yesterday. I downloaded some freebies from daz and poserstyle it did not ask where to send it but sent it to the file I usually downlaod to -I'm on windows XP and internet explorer can anyone tell me how to change it back or point me to help... I've tried the help on the computer but can not find anything to tell me how to direct the download. It's strange..The renderosity files are the only ones that don't send it to the usual file Thank you for your Help

This might fix it. Right click on Start. Click on Explore. Tools: Options: Files Types. Scroll down and click on ZIP files. Click on the Advanced button. Check "Confirm Open after download." I found that I have ZIP and Z files, which are both .zip files. If you have more than one registered for .zip files, that could be why only Rendie doesn't prompt. Stupid IE puts the "Don't ask me again" checkmark just above the OKAY button for downloading. Hope this helps!

Its great to see folks contribute like this instead of paying M$ $250 for a service call.

This is one of the reasons I think Renderosity would be better off with a link instead of a button. With a button, you could simply right-click (or click-and-hold on a mac) and choose Save Target As. My free stuff goes to my Poser Stuff page, which is all links, not buttons, for this reason in particular.

They had to use the buttons instead of links because of spider programs wandering through and thrashing the servers. I don't remember all the details, but the stupid spider programs were consuming tons of bandwidth and occasionally crashing the servers outright.

Weird. I could write a spider that would follow a button just fine. I think that's even a option in the HTML::LinkExtor module for Perl (used by lots of spiders), to explicitly extract form links with all the information fed into a hashref struct, so you can fill the form in.
