Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 14 4:48 pm)
I use 3DSMax, myself. For simpler things, you can actually use Poser itself, by combining, scaling, tapering and possibly magneting or wave-warping existing primitives As a simple example, you could take the Box and scale it thin in the Z axis, then you could taper it down to an edge along the Z axis, then taper down halfway along the Y axis. Then you add a cylinder, scale it down in the Z and X axes and up in the Y axis, and export the whole result as a wavefront OBJect to make an Axe. Then just load it up in UVMapper, make a new UVMap for it and apply materials to the parts. But you'll get a lot fancier stuff with a real modelling program.
