Subject: we need vicky clothes!

i know i'm not telling anythin new here but i want to start a discussion about vicky clothes, might that be possible to cut out vicky geometries to form e.g. a leotard, or catsuit? has anyone tried this? there must be the wrinkles again and everything the old catsuit had and i'm badly missing a good conforming t-shirt -Ede

I'm really surprised that there wasn't a sudden storm of Vickie clothes being created as soon as she came out. Usually, when a new character appears, there's a flood of new things for it. Steve Shanks made a nice dress for her, but poor Vickie can't wear the same dress everyday. All she has is this one dress and a bikini. Not very versatile. I wish I knew how to make clothes (I'm not a modeler and I don't know how to make things conform). I'd be designing things for her. Melanie

What we really need is a good basic tutorial on how to create conforming clothes out of props spawned from different body parts of Poser models such as Vicky. Nerd has a tutorial in his website on conforming clothes, but he misses out on the first step of actually creating the clothes from Poser models (his tutorial implies that he's created his clothes using other 3D modellers, which Poser users may not have).

melanie, i would do too, if i know how to but i'm a miserable modeler :) just wanted to bring it up and start a clothes creation rush or whatever :) -Ede

This is indeed a problem. I recently created a military tunic type of top for both male and female but I can't get it properly into Poser to even begin setting up joint parameters and whatnot.

I keep hoping that someone (ZYGOTE) will translate the default clothing that came with Posette in P4 to give us a start.

Just an update on Vicki's clothing. I'm corresponding with Larry W. right now about an anomaly we've encountered with some of Vicki's clothing items and conforming. We had planned on releasing a Vicki clothing pak this weekend, but it looks like it will be pushed back a week. I think that once there are a few clothing items for her it might become easier to make additional clothing based on existing items. (It seems that not everyone is as ambitious as Steve Shanks when it comes to creating clothing from scratch.) As long as we're on the topic, Zygote is planning on including some options for diversity within individual clothing items (morphs, transparencies...) Thanks for the interest. -Chad Smith Zygote Media Group

Thanks for the info, Chad. For me, it's not a matter of ambition, it's a matter of talent. I just don't have it. I wish I did. I don't know the first thing about creating models. I had no idea there was a clothing pak coming. This is exciting! Melanie

Am I insane, or what? I've found that Many items conform almost fine to Millie the way they are! Just increase the scales of individual parts here and there and voila. Miniskirt works in 3 seconds, and the Unbuttonable blouse works pretty damned good too. I haven't tried t-shirt yet, but I don't anticipate difficulty . Seriously folks, do actually TRY the standard issue stuff. It's not all hopeless. -Darth_Logice

I have the ambition, I do not have the tools! Can clothing meshes be made without the high priced apps?
