After quite some time previewing this texture and props pack for the PoserStyle Immortal Outfit, it has been released. There was a small delay since I held back release till Poser Style and thus the Immortal Outfit were once again accessible. If you are still having trouble accessing the site you can get in touch with them at: webmaster@poserstyle.com I figured I'd reward your patience with a contest :) - but it's gonna be hard I warn you! What is the connection between the image above and the X-Files (yeah, the TV series)? The first person to correctly answer will get it free! Good luck!

If you put aluminun on your head the aliens can't read your mind.... sorry, just wanted to give it a go :P

Jon ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 4:06 AM

Well, musicat came up with an answer that sounds good but it's not what I had in mind - there is still a connection between the picture and the X-files. So, contest is still open - we might just have two winners!

Scully is believed to be immortal.

Jon ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 4:44 AM

:) nice try but the clue is somewhere in the IMAGE, not the words, besides it's only called the Immortal Outfit because it was originally made for the Persian King's Xerxes' Immortal Guard as they were known. It's now something completely different!

noggin ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 4:54 AM

Wow! I'm afraid I haven't got that much patience (and really no idea with the quiz!)so tonight when I get home I'm off to buy them_ at that price you can't go wrong. These are some of the nicest looking textures I've seen in a long time Jon.

"On a gathering storm comes a tall handsome man In a dusty black coat with a red right hand" Nick Cave these lyrics are on the x-files soundtrack. or maybe the fact that Chris Carter is a freemason(linked to the knights templar)

The ten knights either represent the sinister group known as the Syndicate (on the X-Files) or The fact that Mulder is always going on Crusades in finding the Truth.

dialyn ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 7:18 AM

X is 10 in Roman Numberals and there are ten knights.

dialyn ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 7:20 AM

Numerals....sorry. I seem to be "numb" from some of the other threads.

Firebirdz ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 7:25 AM

Agents Scully and Mulder investigate the case of a fetishist obsessed with collecting the hair and nails of deceased women, causing Scully to confront her extreme revulsion; "Die Hand Die Verletzt" - (see shield with the hand) - boy must be really far fetched.

Firebirdz ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 7:55 AM

Mulder gets the Axe from the X-Files

Cookienose ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 10:41 AM

They are all Mulder clones, except for the guy with the antenna on his head - that's the head alien. (Ok, I have no idea). I do remember an episode where Mulder and Scully investigate mysterious deaths in a Virtual Reality game, maybe they had some characters like these in the game. :)

bknoh ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 2:44 PM

I am guessing it might have to do with the symbols on the uniforms???? Hand = Pledge of faith, sincerity, and justice Lion Passant = Dauntless courage Stag = One who will not fight unless provoked; peace and harmony Axe = Execution of military duty Griffon = Valour and death-defying bravery; vigilance Crosses = One who has conquered, Fleur-de-lis = Purity; light This is a hard one. Diane PS I like the 10 = X idea best, though.

dialyn ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 3:22 PM

I was thinking that since the knights are in files (rows) that makes the ten, the X-files. But my mind wanders when I'm at work. I like the idea about the symbols. I think we've got enough ideas in this thread for a X-Files episode using the characters. Mine seems kind of boring by comparison. :(

Jon ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 3:56 PM

Not boring at all dialyn - not by a long shot! I really enjoyed all the different interpretations given by everybody and to be honest, didn't expect such variety. However, as in all contests not everyone can win :( This one goes to stonemason who got the exact connection of the image of the Red Right Hand and the Nick Cave song that was heard in two episodes: Ascension and Duane Barry, both from the second season (quite a while back - sorry) with the ex-FBI agent who claimed to have been an abductee. I think they were two of the most remembered episodes. Musicat also came up with the episode with the Templars even if it was not finally aired. bknoh, you came very close, it was a symbol :) Firebirdz, yours were all amazing in their logic! I loved them! Sorry dialyn, no numbers this time, it was image related. MachineClaw and Cookienose, hehe are you trying to tell me something about my helmets? And noggin, hey, this was fun and I think I'll do it again hopefully coming up with something that's easier :) I'll be IMing the winners, thanks everyone.

dialyn ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 3:59 PM

Well, you certainly got a demonstration of how different everyone's minds work. :) Congratulations to the winners! Good job.
