THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Big Time Bryce 5 Newbie

I'm am THE biggest newbie to Bryce 5 and for that matter, any sort of 3D rendering programs. I am looking for some really solid tutorials that make sense. Especially ones so that I can have objects in the foreground with them being covered by water or terrain. Know what I mean? I've tried playing with the boolean attributes to see if that's it but I can't figure it out. Anything to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Thanks for the welcome roch and the link! I'm already hooked on it and have done one decent rendering so far....but definitely nothing compared to what I've seen in here! I can tell I'll be spending many sleepless nights with Bryce!

Also check out the on-line courses offered by LVS. Each course is 6 weeks and only cost $20 ($15 after the first class). They have 3 courses on Bryce. Peggy

Welcome to Bryceland Burgundy1. Looking forward to seeing your images.

GMTA Peggy! I was looking into them the other day and have seriously thought about those courses! Thanks for the reminder! And thank you Colette1 for the welcome! I think it may be quite some time before I get good enough to actually post something here...although unless you all want to see some really pathetic renderings I'll be more than happy to oblige! hahahaha!

Colette1 ( ) posted Thu, 09 January 2003 at 11:32 AM

Just take a look at my gallery if you want to see some pathetic renderings. Though, if you start at the last page and go back, I think you can follow my progress pretty well. I am as brand new to 3-d art as they get. I just got into it in August of last year.:) So let's see what you've got? You said you had one decent one?

burgandy1 ( ) posted Thu, 09 January 2003 at 11:40 AM

Just checked them out and WOW! I'm impressed! Loved the one "Something Wicked This Way Comes"! I'm a sucker for stuff like that! Will post some as I learn to have items in the foreground without them getting sucked int the ground or water! LOL

Welcome burgandy1! We have all posted our pathetic renderings sooner or later, it's the only way to get feedback and get better. Lin

If you don't post you will never hear the words of wisdom which will give you ideas on how to improve your work. And as was said above, we have all created absolute toffee, (rubbish), at some point. Welcome to Bryce and I'm sure you'll have fun in here and in Bryce. 8) Catlin

burgandy1 ( ) posted Thu, 09 January 2003 at 2:23 PM

Ok you all convinced me! I will post my patheticness (is that a word?!?...lol) for all of you to see!

Colette1 ( ) posted Thu, 09 January 2003 at 3:18 PM

Thanks for the kind words on my gallery. "Something Wicked this way Comes" was one of my favorite books. I had to try a pic. And see? One of the ones you liked is not one of my favorites, I am still working on it and not happy with it. So just keep on posting on... Just raise up whatever is stuck in the ground or water? There is a little spray can to the right of the work board, raise your object and use the can to see if it is where you want it.
