Subject: EPSON Perfection 2450 Photo crops images scanned from a color negative 36 mm fi

Dear friends, I'm using Epson Perfection 2450 Photo for scanning my color negative films (24mm x 36 mm). I'm satisfied with the quality but for one aspect: The output images I get are cropped, i. e. the hight (landscape orientation) of the output image I get is less than the negative one. It differs from time to time but each time the hight is lower as if the negative is not 24mm x 36 mm but 22 mm x 36 mm or even 19 mm x 36 mm - the image is cropped near the edges. How can I fix the problem? I use Photoshop 7, Painter 7, even ACD See 3.1 - the results doesn't seem to depend on the app used, OS is windows 2000 with SP 3, the same result is on windows 98 SE on my son's PC (absolutely different configuration). Epson Twain 5 installed from the original CD. Of course I read through the manual enclosed (failed to find any troubleshootinghing of that kind) and contacted the EPSON tech support via e-mail but haven't recieved any response. Thank You in advance, digitally Yours, Anthony.

The same thing would happen to me when I would scan images on my flatbed scanner, never was able to figure out why it would do that...especially since the preview would show the whole image. Hopefuly someone here might know.....

I am, therefore I create.......

In my case preview image is cropped as well. Analysing the images that were croped more I came to a conclusion that perhaps twain "decides" to omit scanning low contrast areas as unnecessary ones... Digitally Yours, -Anthony.
