Here's a work I created today. all is Bryce made, except the vase, which I created in 3ds max. the flower consists of something like 2600 spheres or so. the material on it I think was venus or some such. it is one of the materials that came with bryce. the clouds in the back are also spheres, with a volumetric cloud material applied. I created this image, after complaining to my wife that I needed a subject to work with, and she told me she would like a rose in a vase. well, it's no rose, but it is pretty neat. Comments, critiques?

Perhaps it's a Venus rose? Interesting outcome and brilliant patience. :)

Very cool image and a bit Dali-esque. Did your wife like it? Lin

two thumbs up

thanks all for the positive replies! =c) Yes, My wife loves it. as for the technique behind the flower, I started with a single sphere, adjusted it's shape a bit, and MR'd it 15 times, giving 16 spheres. I then Mr'd all of those 15 times, and mr'd that total another 9 times. Also, any of the clouds you see that are not flat(part of the built in sky) are also shperes, but not multi replicated. and yes, it did make my system a bit on the sluggish side when I tried to do anything.

Great! A rose without thorns!

Great. The only thorn seems to be bryce slowingdown when you worked on this image.
