Hey all! I've been working in Bryce for a shade under 2 weeks and have been working on numerous items in Bryce to both gain full knowledge of the product and also work towards my ultimate goal of designing an entire baseball stadium inside and out w/ it. I'm a ways off from that right now, and for right now I look to you all for opinions and assistance! :)

Anyhow, I've been working on close-to-the-terrain scenes...and I noticed when I start up Bryce 5, the cool picture in the splash screen shows some awesome grassy terrain that I like...very high detail and I want to get that effect (not in the picture above, but in a different scene I'm creating.) How can I go about doing that?

Also really quick, I followed a tutorial online at this Web site (http://www.3dlinks.com/tutorials/bryce/bryce_tutorials.cfm?tutorial=gates) and I made my own version...and also added in a few things like the broken sign and the hinges, trees, bushes, etc...can you all let me know what you think? Go easy, I've only been working in Bryce for about 10 days or so...hehe...but I consider this a start anyhow!

Thanks a bunch!

MD31, You are definatly on a roll in the right direction. Looks good, Your tree size gives it depth. Make the cross headstones a bit smaller and it'll keep a constistant DOF (depth of field). Welcome, and Enjoy ICM

Great image - nicely composed, good use of the fog, and very atmospheric. You've really got an eye for this :)

Great Foggy Atmosphere, perhaps bring the whole thing forward to see the detail on the gate because they came out very nice, headstone should prob. be smaller. I agree with Cambert you got the knack - tuts are the way to go! roch222

Another newbie here and from my stand point I think it's great for just starting out! Almost did this same tutorial myself and after seeing this I think I definitely will!

I was kinda waiting for clay (our lovely and vivacious co-moderator) to pop in and say something, If I'm not mistaken that's his image in the Bryce 5 splash screen.

Great effect with the fog and lighting, very good for only 10 days. Keep up the good work.....8) Catlin
