THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Dual Monitors

I have a Matrox 450 Dual Head display driving two 21" monitors under Win2000. Bryce loads up in the center of the 2 monitors, 1/2 on each. I can drag the palettes by holding down the space bar and click/drag, but I can't drag the scene window. It's no better if I select Maximize from the Advanced Display palette. Is there any way to move that scene window, or to get Bryce to use only one of the two monitors without having to change my Windows display settings to a single monitor each time before running Bryce?

Lucky man; sorry can't help; I'm stuck with a single monitor on a GForce card at the moment.

I have ATI Radeon VE. Allows dual monitors and 9 desktops simultaineous. No split screen though. 20" & 17" I looked up your MFG'r. I would keep it on standard to allow for separate multitasking. The Clone screen seems redundant unless your doing a presentation or Training someone. Have fun

The clone mode is useless for me. I currently have it set up as a 2048 x 768 desktop, which goes across the pair of 21" monitors. Works great for Photoshop, Poser, and other programs where the sub-windows can be moved. It would work for Bryce too if I could just drag that scene window away from the center. I hate to have to reset the card settings before and after using bryce, and being locked into everything fitting on a single monitor. What a waste of time (not to mention wasting the second monitor). So, there is no way to get the scene window to move, or get bryce to use less than the whole desktop?

Isn't there anything in the Preference settings on Bryce that would change the position of the scene? Perhaps you could pit both monitors against each other and have dueling monitors. Lin "Now the Dueling Banjos song is running through my head."

Only way I know of is to change the settings of your vid card. Even though the main scene window can't be moved all the palettes could be moved to the second monitor thus having all palettes visible at once. Could be useful.

Matrox ahs a ridiculous new card set out, but sounds like you need nView, my friend. THe G450 had it's day, but it's 2003 already...!

I'm willing to bet there's a file hidden somewhere in one of the bryce folders that tells it how to orient the display settings on startup. Whether or not this is editable by a user with little programming skills, I am uncertain. Perhaps by asking one of the people at Corel you might get lucky. You should be able to change the alignment from the center position. Well, I'm just guessing anyways. Couldn't hurt to try...
