I think it was done with the spray-render.

spray render it was , volumes textures they are.Believe it on not I spent two hours trying to decide which background paper to choose - whats the world coming too!!

Great job here. @ Vasquez. The spray render is useful for checking portions of your work when a full render would take too long.
