I think people are blowing this way out of porportion... One single bad apple in the thousands of people who use this software and you're willing to shut down a community of file sharing that's taken 2, maybe 3 years to build. Man... The PFO should have come up with this one months ago when they trying to kill off renderosity. Mass voluntary suicide inwork today in the poser community... Bad apples happen. It's the nature of the world. Learn to live with it. Don't kill yourselves over only one person. Does anyone really think this person is a serious threat anyway? This suicide only serves to be a great disservice to the reamining thousands of people in this community.

Truth has no value without backing by unfounded belief.

Thanks for a breath of common sense, arcady!

I admit that I hit the site earlier last week looking for downloads. Since he was selling his stuff and I knew that I could find other wonderful things offered by others that I knew or knew well enough to request something, I left the site. I e-mailed and told him that some of his meshes were interesting but I used Poser and could not use them. I had not looked that closely at the meshes, mainly because they were for sale and after buying Vicki, Zygote's Eagle, and my trip to Canada next week, I couldn't afford anything else. If I had looked more closely I would have recognized them all. I have a feeling that other people did the same. We know that as Foxy said, there are other models, Poser compatible, that are available for free download. Yes, I love freebees, but I also was to return something to the community in like kind. I've decided that I can create textures and had hoped to upload them to Props Guild. Maybe (HINT) Foxhollow there might host a few?

Dreamspinner, I would gladdly host your textures. Drop me a line at schnapss@home.com if you need a new home to host your stuff. I would be happy to help. Have a good one! Schnaps (P.S. My site is located at http://www.fortunecity.com/skyscraper/smiley/1350/ hit up the downloads section to see where you would like to put your textures.)

They take on a different connotation if you consider them from the perspective of "protests" rather than "suicides".

Thankyou Nance, Glad to see that some here can be open minded enough to see it from both sides. Note The meshes and textures take a long time to and hard work from the authors of these works. Sprout

Wow, are we a temperamental bunch! First of all, though I don't agree with the idea of closing down the sites, I stand behind it: 1) These sites are privately owned, and the owners have the rights to do as they wish with them. 2) It is more of a passive resistance thing than an attack; it worked for Ghandi, why not here? 3) It may inconvenience me, but I suspect having my work stolen (as if!) would be even worse. Oh, and regards to The PFO did not try to kill Renderosity. The situation that caused the split of the forum caused a LOT of hard feelings, some of which last to this day, and SOME MEMBERS decided to engage in geurilla tactics, but (unless there was some legal stuff going on off-stage that I don't know about) no body attempted to kill anyone off here! Actually, that situation is similar to the current one, except that it dealt with a percieved theft (the Poserforum name and the "location") as opposed to an actual one.
