Subject: V3 Male Morphs - has anyone gotten them to work?

fauve ( ) posted Fri, 10 January 2003 at 10:23 PM · edited Tue, 04 February 2025 at 10:33 AM

I'm probably missing something very obvious here, but I can't figure out what. I bought the V3 Male Morph pack and installed it, but I can't get all of the morphs to work. When I load the V3 base figure, then inject a set of male body morphs (like "Boyish" or "Smooth") I get a dial for the full-body morph by that name, but changing the dial parameter (positive or negative) does absolutely nothing to the figure. Injecting the chin morphs works, though, and the head can be morphed to male. It's the body that doesn't change. I'm injecting the morphs into the base V3 figure with the Service Pack 1 update applied. I haven't moved or changed any of the V3 folders and I'm using P5. Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong, or if someone has gotten the male morphs to work, can they tell me what process they used?

Did you update with all the service packs? There is an update for the CR2, and the body morphs, as well.

You're right... I only had one (the head) but thanks to Dialyn I found and applied the other two as well. Last attempt locked up on the search for .bum files, but I've changed the bump map references to .jpgs and I'm goin' in again. crosses fingers

And I owe Momcat who gave me the first lead to the service paks. :) Many thanks....! Now if I could just read instructions correctly, this might have all gone smoother for me.

Yeah you need the service releases on the product pages. Then all will be fine. Ayone who doesn't have these is going to need them. Otherwise future products won't work. But they are well worth it I promise. Anton

got the same problems too. now i dunno about the service pack update yet. the body dials does nothing as well as the new face morphs (lips, puffy face, jaws etc). but i do get the male face charaters to work

There are 3 service packs. The one on the V3 page, not the V3 face morphs nor V3 body morphs, should do the trick. (Though I'd advise running all three, anyway.) You'll see a new set of V3 characters in the Figures Library after that. (They are easy to recognize - they have green circles behind the figures.) You may need to reboot for these to work.

The new cr2 has the dials reordered and expanded to make room for more as well as the other things. Without it the injectors won't know where to put the deltas and rewrite dial names over old ones. Sorry for the hassle. The newletter takesa good 24 hours to churn out to all those people. Let me know if you still have a problem. Anton

what happens to all the cr.2 I've built in the last few weeks and the pz3 files are they going to have to be rebuilt? V3 is taking some getting used to. No clothes, new maps, morph injectors.

After I applied all the service packs and changed the .bum references to .jpg, everything worked great!

You're right, Anton, this was definitely worth waiting for. Finally, a male figure who can be made to not look like a man-boobed bodybuilder! He does look a little funny in Vicki's painted-on jeans, but not nearly as funny as he does in his nude but "wee-wee"-less state. :) I can tell already that I'm really going to like this guy.

Otaku, You won't loose any work. Just apply poses to the new cr2 and move any spawned morphs. Nothing new. She has clothes we just haven't released them yet. Some will appear this week I think. Anton

how do I aplly the morphs and move the spawned morphs without recunstructing the figure from scratch. The files I'm talking about are figures created by installing only the morphs neede for that particular figure. How do Keep from repeating all that work. Also is there any word on a mac version of the morph cleaning utility that was released for windows with v3?

PheonixRising ( ) posted Sat, 11 January 2003 at 12:09 AM

Rob mentioned it earlier. They are working on it. Just save the pose and re-apply to a new cr2. Sorry but there may be some work involved but you don't loose the work. Just save the pose and apply to a new cr2 with the morphs you are using.

The dial cleaning for mac is there - I just downloaded it. It's only for OSX though.

otaku ( ) posted Sat, 11 January 2003 at 8:29 AM

Dail cleaner for os X and poser is os 9. Until poser 5 for mac os X comes out what good does that do? Hope they come out with a os 9 version.

I'm running Poser in Classic mode under OSX. Works fine.

PheonixRising ( ) posted Sat, 11 January 2003 at 12:49 PM

you have to be patient when using the face poses. they are injecting in case you uninstalled an important morph. just wait it out.
