.....I'll answer this.....it is a fantastically easy program to use which can generate the necessary facial movements in sync with a user-supplied sound (WAV) file as an animation pose for Poser. Just import the WAV, press a button, and you have the animation setting added to a library. Apply to an existing figure and it will talk, the eyes blink, the head moves, the eyebrows go up and down.....and it looks quite realistic!!!! Krel

I've had a hunch what this is, but I never knew for sure, myself. Sounds great. I hvaen't gotten into animation yet, but it sounds like it would eliminate a lot of extra work. Sounds great. Where does it come from and how much does it cost? Melanie

The company is at www.lipsinc.com. I suggest you head over to the mimic forum (link at the Right under forums) and read up on general opinions about the company and the product. Post your questions and opinions there. They respond to what we have to say.

Actually Mimic is $195 and is not sold in stores. Only available on-line.

It is good.I downloaded the sample,BUT I am nervous about buying it,due to the fact you HAVE to pop in the CD EACH time you need to have a Character talk(sucks)and that Lipsinc does NOT allow you to Make a backup copy (1) would be fair, even though you just laid out $200 bucks. That is Ridiculous, as is the fact you got to put the CD in EACH time(It will scratch, more than likely)and they (Lipsinc)expect you to SHIP it back and WAIT for a new copy if that does happen(Which costs you TIME AND MONEY).Try telling THAT to a Client you are working for.See how fast they dump you.Too bad,I love their product,BUT they need to let you make at least 1 copy for your backup AND NOT have you put the CD in EACH time you wanna animate a characters mouth.

email your comments to lips inc. It helps. You probably saw my posting on the Mimic Forum. We got them to change their policy on returns, but I wouldn't mind them releasing a copyable CD fo backup purposes.

Yeah, I just tried it and I think it pretty sweet! I've been reading the forums and I also visited the website. I'm gonna think about buying it. Thanks guys!

Its funny I have several programs that require the CD to be in when I am running the program so I never gave it a thought about replacement CD. I get concerned because I download programs and I don't get a CD. I back everything up and I keep disks loaded with all my downloads but I still get concerned about losing those programs. Marge
