Ok guys, Here he is, Iron Giant, finished. I will give this figure to JARM (Jody) on Monday for hosting and posting, so keep an eye out. Most of the joints have bending turned off so it is all simple x,y,z rotations. The there is a very simple texture map, I made it primarily for the eyes, but for the rest of the figure I just use the poser paint bucket. The head dent is a morph target as well as a...uh...smile/frown morph for the jaw. Jody will host and post it sometime after Monday and now I can get on with my life :-)...just kidding, this was a fun challenge. BTW, the poser file is 8.67 megs, I know that's a lot, but any less would make choppy body parts. (It's zipped down to 1.9 megs) Comments are welcome as always, Davo

Hey, thanks for the comments guys!! I think that in a battle between Bender and this guy, Bender would win, after all, he did overcome the evil Santa Clause and the thing flushed down the toilet that grew to epic proportions. I also thought about making a very simple figure creation tutorial using a robot, I think Bender would be great! Anyway, need to take a little break now... 3DSprite: I miss you man.... Davo

Well, I think your model is perfect. And now I suppose the time has some to reveal that my new WIP is Bender. I'll post him as soon as I finish him. Getting the OBJs smooth is a pain. Check the new messages for the Carrara Image. And I, too, put my money on Bender. BTW. I know there was a Bender model already out there, but (apologies) it wasn't very good.

Thanks again guys, Jarm is from England who really really really really really really really really really really really really really...whew...really wanted the "IRON GIANT", not something similar, so I took up the challenge and here he is...Jarm offered to put host and post this figure, so I imagine it would go into the free-stuff pages as well as Jarm's website. I can't send the figure until Monday, then it will be up to Jarm to post it. It's too large to send from my crappy home modem, so I'll zip drive it and send it from work. Yeah it'll be in free stuff and I've been putting together a small website to show my artwork anyway from www.washuu.net (ignore what's there at the moment, that'll change next week). As I 'really' want this figure as soon as I can I'll download it then post it to free stuff straight away, so it shouldn't be too long. Davo has done an amazing job, I am stunned. Cheers Jody

Hmm come to think about it...Bender DID defeat that Santa Claus huh? That dude was pretty scary with his missles and what not! haha...in fact it was after that I started to create Bender in Rhino (as one of my first figure attempts). I've never posted him (but then again I've never really finished him either)..his design is one that lends itself easily to creating in 3d...I don't think it would be too hard for you after creating the "Iron Giant" :) PAN~ federation-21.com

Hoborg is working on Bender as we speak. I do believe he is in "first figure creation hell" right now, man I remember my first time. I couldn't hack it until Poser 4 came out, with all the segments in my creatures it would have been too hard to write the phi file, with the heir editor it is a snap. You go Hoborg!!! Davo
