Subject: My name is MUD

Back in 1991-92 I used to hang out in an lpMud named GhostMUD. For those who don't know, a MUD is kinda like multiplayer Zork or something. When you first created a character in GhostMUD, one of the first things that you did was you went to the Newbie Dungeon to get a little xp and gold primer. You got a basic sword and cardboard armour there for free. Then you entered the Petting Zoo and ran around killing cute little bunnies and doggies and kitties and squrrels and such to get your first experience. The values were so low on the critters, and the exponential increase in xp needed to advance the higher you went, that it was free of the higher-up-levels running around killing your cute, fuzzy prey, unless they just wanted to be asses. I've been looking around at the vast amounts of cardboard armour and basic swords available in Poser, and then there's this recent nauseating wave of friggin 'cute' saccharine cartoon animals... So if anyone out there has purchased all this stuff and is willing, I recommend you illustrate the newbie level of most of those old lpMUDs and start hacking up some stinking fuzzies. It would be so accurate nithe cardboard armour. But what I have to wonder is... When are we going to get to Level 2? Please?!

Well... there ARE some good armor sets out there... Traveller's Gothic Armor, for example. And there's plenty of higher level beasties. Plenty of orcs, trolls, goblins, and even several dragons. Or do you dare me to see how cutesy I can get? ^_^

Remember, kids! Napalm is Nature's Toothpaste!

I have to admit that I too an heartily sick of cute stuff. I did buy mousie, but mainly because it's a realistic enough looking rodent. I wouldn't have touched it with a bargepole if it had looked like a Care Bears companion. OTOH, I don't like Fantasy stuff much, either. :)

For a shish-ke-bob, you'd need 6 of the critters spitted together with some vegies over a fire. Are they up to 6 yet? Carolly

Mind you, rabbits can be pretty viscious... (And so can mooses. My sister was bitten by a moose once...) Hey, I'm slowly working on making more nasties- working on a custom alien/monster, non-anthropomorphic (for the most part), but since I'm still learning the finer points of modelling, it might be a while. (No, really, the moose just came up and bit her!) As soon as I get a website up and running, I'll post my Purple Worm figure; though it could use re-texturing. (Moose bites can be pretty nasty... erk...) Sorry, but we should inform you that the person responsible for editing this message has been sacked... And further apologize for pointless Monty Python references.

You'd think there are enough weapons and relics in the freestuff, but I could not find the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch. How can I fight against a rabbit, then?

Oh my ! That's great. Yes, I would be very interested by this prop. If you'd e-mail me, I'd translate it into obj and make a tex for it. (compiler@free.fr) What a good excuse to view this DVD again ! Thanks in advance Compiler

shoot... I've still got every Infocom text adventure that I had in the 80's running on my machine today... great way to kill the time waiting for a render. Like picking up an old book.

'allo Somebody pointed me here and I've put a Holy Hand Grenade up into freestuff. It's in pp2 format, its got seperate material groups and a pin that seperates, although it comes parented. Speaking of Zork, I was working on a Coconut of Quendor I could probably finish up. MV

Right... and you drink the fish while pouring tea into your ear. Some great games. Thanks for that hand grenade! Carolly
