THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

There is no Mac software of note that I do not have. The strongest single program for Mac 3D is still ElectricImage 2.9, but there is a more "magical" program, and I'm not sure why. I'm talking about Bryce. Bryce is to 3D what Marvel Comics used to be to fantasy illustration, what Star Trek is to sci-fi. When I heard that Patrick Stuart was going to play Dr.X in the new X-men movie, I thought of Bryce. Legions of Bryce freaks were waiting patiently for Poser characters to become animatable within Bryce. Now that these former Metacreations programs have been purchased by different companies, integration may never happen. This is a very sad prospect. Is there anyone who can help us? Please don't piss on this thread by touting Poser integration with some other program. Bryce is unique and you know it. -Gear

Gear there is no need to worry, Corel plans on continuing Bryce's Mac development. As for the Poser integration don't count on it. From what I've been told Metacreations halted the Poser/Bryce integration because of coding trouble. Since they are now at different companies it will be even more difficult to accomplish it. Plus its far to soon for the new Bryce staff to take it into consideration, at least until they get settled in. Neal

Your right, Bryce is unique to any platform. The wealth of information available for it is also unique. However, reading info from MacNN & other threads leads me to believe that Poser integration with Bryce is unlikely to happen. I'm keeping an eye on Ken Musgrave & team at http://www.wizardnet.com/musgrave/FractalWorlds.html to see if their "next generation" Bryce-Like program (MojoWorld) will do it, after all they have Curious Labs (Posers new home) as a partner. You can bet that they are looking into this.

According to a post by Ken Musgrave (I think I deleted it, I'd have to look through the archives), Mojoworld will be compatible with Poser animations. Maybe, hopefully... Now if I could only animate something worthwhile ... :P

That is indeed the plan. It's easier starting from scratch, than it was to try to put Poser into Bryce. We're about to get serious about the integration. We certainly hope that Poser animation will be integrated in MojoWorld in version 1. Too soon to promise, though... -Mo
