I'm expecting to recieve my Poser 5 within the next few days and I'm wondering if any of you here can give me a list of books and or links that will help a newbie such as myself get the hang of this.

Books:

Poser 5 Reference Manual - (comes with Poser 5, of course) necessary, but very vague in some areas (such as the new Material Room).

The Poser 5 Handbook - R. Shamms Mortier. His first book for Poser, well, sucked. But on this one he has culled information and articles from the best and it is supposed to be a much better companion book than the last.

Links:

Renderosity
PoserPros
Curious Labs
DAZ Arcana
Poser tutorials at 3DLinks

And there are a slew of links on the right bottom (Web Ring Top 15) to other sites with tutorials and information about using and mastering Poser.

Check out the stuff Phil-C posts. He's got some great tut's, and I've read he has a CD or something that helps. Maybe he would like to jump in here and give himself a plug.

You might want to visit Ron Knights Poser Universe. Ron has plenty of tutorials geared towards newbies. Poser 4 & 5 are covered.

Thanks Larry. Best to see what other folks have to say about it. My view may be biased :)

With all the new rooms, I suggest you also focus in on one at a time. There are plenty of posts in this forum that you can search on to address each one also.

Hi danglinfool :) Welcome to the Poser Forum, Hey that is one thing Kevin will be doing with the New Backroom, Gathering all the information so there will be no searching through all the threads. In the meantime... WOW! Again, I am blown away at how everyone works together to help each other! Thanks for making danglinfool feel right at home! ladynimue
