Vue d'Esprit will soon support Poser 5! I have published the full E-Onsoftware's communiquon the Vuedesprit list at Yahoogroups. This is great news! - Orio

Oops... sorry, didn't see that Guitta already posted that.

Marque ( ) posted Sun, 19 January 2003 at 7:13 AM

Why not post it here since some of us don't go to yahoogroups? Thanks, Marque

krimpr ( ) posted Sun, 19 January 2003 at 7:38 AM

Yeah... I'm listening too! What's going on, what's going on? This could be really big! If it's true this forum is going to be flooded with new users, including many Brycers who have been sitting on the fence.

You can find the same communiquposted by Guitta in two other earlier threads. I as admin of Vuedesprit list (together with Guitta btw) have received the communiqufrom E-ON and have posted on the Yahoo list. I didn't want to post the communiquhere too, in order not to "step on Guitta's shoes" who is the official moderator here. I did post the news, though, when I saw there wasn't a thread on it, thinking that Guitta would have added the communiquherself when she was online. If I had checked the inside of the threads, instead of the subjects only, I would have noticed the communiquand wouldn't have posted this message at all. Sorry if that was, or caused, a problem.

Can you please give me a link to the thread, that would really be appreciated. Thanks for letting us know! I have been waiting along with everyone else for this news. 8^) Marque

Oh, O.K., I saw that. I thought that the Yahoogroups newsletter was something different than what Gebe was posting, and that the Yahoo guys were privy to something that we weren't. (although I didn't think that Gebe would stand for that.) Great news, for sure.

It should have happened like lots sooner. CL might not be in the boat it is now had they though a bit and offered to get there product working with other render engines sooner. It's really good news though, better late then never.

HellBorn ( ) posted Sun, 19 January 2003 at 10:32 AM

Ehhh... It would be really impressive if Vue manage to support Poser5 as Poser5 hardly is supports it self ;)

Rokol ( ) posted Sun, 19 January 2003 at 12:09 PM

Fantastic! I thought I had wasted my money. I only really got P5 to add some figures to my Vue renders. gonna crack on and learn some Poser now.

jstro ( ) posted Sun, 19 January 2003 at 3:33 PM

Um, maybe someday. From what I read, they simply say they will work together and that right now you can use Vue with Poser 4. Not any real big news there. It is good that they intend to work together, but I won't be holding my breath. Hopefully, some day. jon

Read better, jstro, Nicholas Phelps says: "We are committed to continue development that WILL ALLOW OUR USERS TO INTEGRATE POSER 5 WITH E-ON SOFTWARE PRODUCTS..." Can't be clearer than this I think! :-)

jstro ( ) posted Sun, 19 January 2003 at 5:22 PM

Yep, you're right. I misread it. I'll still wait a while before I start holding my breath though. :-) When they do actually work together, then I'll finally break down and buy Poser 5. jon

...in order not to "step on Guitta's shoes"... Don't worry Orio and thanks, there will never be a "shoe problem" of this kind between you and me:-). Guitta

Enforcer ( ) posted Wed, 22 January 2003 at 2:46 PM

If this "integration" includes the P5 Dynamic Hair I think Bryce will become a memory. Corel has already announced in a 'rosity Q&A that integrating with Poser is not a high priority. I can't even fathom what their top priority must be... maybe increasing render time by another 50%. :)

krimpr ( ) posted Wed, 22 January 2003 at 3:47 PM

I doubt that's true about the Bryce rendertimes Enforcer. Even if they could increase the rendertime by that much, no-one would live long enough for it to be conclusively proven. Is this a new Q&A?

sandoppe ( ) posted Fri, 24 January 2003 at 4:26 AM

I really hope CL and Eon do follow through on the Poser 5/Vue compatability. I purchased Poser 5 just before Christmas as opposed to paying $400+ for Poser 4/propack. Then the Vue/Poser 4 bundle comes out a month later for $1 more tnan I paid for P5! Maddening!! But....if they eventually get it worked out, then I'm happy I got P5! Frankly I only purchased Poser so I could more easily add characters to Vue :)

Brewvet ( ) posted Fri, 24 January 2003 at 10:53 PM

I'm hoping Eon and Daz are talking. I believe I shall hold out for Daz Studio. The bug reports on Poser 5 made me very wary of purchasing it and I could see no real improvement over P4 (Except for the dynamic cloth and hair)that would make the purchase of great necessity. Until Daz Studio comes out I think I'll hold on to the Vue P4 combo. Just my two cents. MN

Brewvet, if I had it.....I would hold on to it too :) Poser 5 has awesome potential. My guess is that the average person will never be able to use it maximally. for one thing their computers may have difficulty meeting the resource requirements. I have a PIV 1.7 ghz and 512 DDR Ram. The hair room will never get used until I can get around to either adding more ram or a new computer. It is simply too sluggish.....like walking knee deep in wet concrete. The material room and the main area are quick enough....not as fast as Vue, but faster than Bryce 4 :) Have not really experimented with the cloth room yet. Anyway....I would not recommend anyone abandon Poser 4 for Poser 5 unless you are very skilled and have a very, very powerful computer.
