Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 21 4:30 pm)
Hoborg: Now, that's what I call a response! The message had been up for about a minute when your response clicked through. I've exported many finished products as an image. But what about if you want to render and then continue working with it in Poser? And you didn't come across as snippy at all. I'm the newbie with all the questions, after all. Appreciate your help! G.M.
Hello If render is an image, how do you do animation? I have the same problem, when I make a change and do render, i can see my change but as soon as I try to change again, i do not see the result until i render again. It is hard when I do not see my previous change. FOr an animation (bvh) i do render and apply the animation but the animation never have the cloths for the figure. Any idea for a newbie. Claude
Hrrmm, would it be correct to assume that you do not have your Poser Manual guys, and are maybe practising on that version of Poser 3 that sort of got put out to the net till you can save for the full version? And so have not had any real opportunity to read the documentation or work the tutorials perhaps... In this case, though it will pain you to do so no doubt, I suggest going out and buying the "over the counter" Poser 3 Handbook by Shams Mortimer. Wretched art in it, but it does teach excellent technique. So enough of my rants for one day. Im gonna go back to being a nice putty tat now (been sick and my tummy hurts, I am sorry). 1) Are you "rendering" to a new window, or just hitting "render" and rendering to the same window you "work" in? If you are rendering to a new window (this can be setup by choosing Render-->Render Options. Then click "New Window" and "Antialiased", then click the "Render Now" button. 2) Now once it has finished rendering your picture, if you wish to save that, click "Save-->Save As-->and choose a file name and directory, and there you are! Hope that helps! Graphic programs are cryptic on purpose you know, to FORCE you to purchase the program so you get the documents ;P
Do your render then go edit/ copy picture.......then go display/ paste onto bacground, then check you have correct item selected and use the camera tool to drag the figure/prop out of view then save it to the library you'll end up with a nice rendered thumbnail.....For the other folks go Ctrl-9 that'll put you in texture view mode....Steve
Got the full version, registered with manuals, but as usual, I insist on learning everything myself. Fact is, the stuff in the manual just doesn't sink in very well. My problem, I suppose. However, I appreciate all the help here -- and, yes, you have answered my questions, plus more. Thanks for your help, all!!!

I've been working with Poser (3, soon to be 4) for about a month and I have a problem the solution to which is probably obvious to the veterans. No problems rendering, say a figure. But the problem is trying to keep the rendered figure when I save. It's not there! What is so obvious that I'm not doing? Thanks for your help and patience!!!!
