Subject: importing Poser .obj files problem !

After exporting my Poser figure to .obj file, when i try to load it on Bryce, importing dialog loads the object, then there appears a message saying "A file loading error, i/o bad media"...I did importing Poser .objs to Bryce many times but there were no such problem before ?? So i exported it as a .3ds file then imported it to Bryce. Everything is ok except, .3ds files does not contain texture coordinates so my figure stands there like a white piece of rock...What should i do to import files as .obj to avoid of that importing error ???

I don't know how to answer you on this, because I don't understand if it's a problem in importing MAT files. I can only say that I had this problem and I solved it downloading "Grouper", a free utility by CastIronFlamingo which helps a lot importing Poser figures with the right textures. I think you can find the link here in the freestuff seciont. Stefano

I've also experenced this problem but in my case, I was trying to import a bunch of objects as one and found that by importing each object seperatly from Poser did the trick. True, I had to rearrange everything once imported, but everything maintained their texture maps.

Also, if while in 3D Studio Max you apply uvw mapping and click on the radio dial for xyz to uvw mapping parameter, then and apply the object's texture and export to 3ds format, bryce will get the object together with it's textures. Only thing is you'll have to play around with the bump texture.
