Tried a couple of different colour set ups on my sky. The front shadow was coming from wolf, as my sun is low right of the image, evening light basically I think. I have turned off cast shadows for wolf now. I still have the original sky saved so I can revert. Which way is the best?

The second one. And BTW Q I will render it out bigger for you once I have settled on the lighting, and have a few hours rendering time to spare.

Like the 2nd one. Yellow is more natural than cyan. Bark looks better. The horses seem to have something going too, huh? Must be spring... Can't wait to see it bigger. Wonder what Fred would think of wolf? I love it. Q

I have to say that the second one is better, if only because the yellow haze helps the trees and foliage stand out better.

The second one looks much warmer, and considering how the people are dressed, it should be very warm where they are. :^) I think if you move the closest tree on the right side a little to the right, it would improve the composition a little bit (and the composition is already great IMHO). My eye keeps moving toward that little bright spot to the right of the tree.

This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

Oh yes, really looking good. The cast is gone and the colors look richer. If I had to choose between these two I would have to go with render 2, the top one on this post. I like that distant, greenish, vegetation canopy misty look out in the background behind the characters. The wolf has an excellent inquisitive pose BTW. I like it!

I like green what can I say?

Oh dear, its still descisions, descisions. I am in 2 minds myself ( always been that way, think its inherited) I will probably go with the 2nd one, it is nearer to the very first one I tried, yonks ago. Tjohn, thanks for mentioning that tree. I altered the dof and forgot to move it. It used to be on the edge of the pic.

The 2nd one works for me, the light and textures look more natural and as was said above it has a warmer feel to it.
