I've been working on this suit, still got some minnor bugs to work out and small pieces to finish (like the leg straps). The shirt parts gonna need to be higher poly it doesn't bend properly right now... but anyhoo... How should i assimble it? all the pieces like the arm bands shoulder pads, chest piece hip, leg guards, as prop pieces attached to the clothing (shirt pants) or as a one piece model? I remember people talking about prefrences with stuff like this before but couldn't remember, couldn't find the threads again either. So... how do you think i should put it together? thanks for any input... Gotta come up with some kinda helmet for him too. Was thinking about making a suit kinda on the same lines for a female as well.

That's pretty neat. Great Boots! If I were working it up, I'd do the pads and such as prop pieces and make it so that a set (right and left) loads at a time.

Hey, this looks great ! The only things I'm not to fond of are the sort of thigh things. I can't see their functionality, nor how they move with the rest of the suit. I'd discard them and replace them with some sort of padding or wearable computer, or holster... But this a mere detail. I think the whole suit is really cool. As for your question, I'd rather go for 1 or 2 figures (say 1 for the catsuit and basic items, 1 for the heavier features such as rigid armor). I hate to have to search through my cr2 libraries, then having to remember that there is a prop somewhere related to the clothes... As a user, I prefer when I can store all related items in the same folder, be it cr2 or pp2. Just my 2 eurocent opinion. Compiler

I'd prefer the parts ... I like mixing and matching across various sets to get new looks. What model is that? looks like V3M?

The way you have it set up, I'd like the option of outside pieces separate-- that way I can do scanty sci fi or use alternate bodysuits as well as the total effect. I agree with making that thigh portion at least apparently useful, too. I hope it is for V3M! Emily

here's a shot of the fem suit so far. The boots, shin guards, shoulder guards and arm pieces both fit both the male and female :D saves alotta remodeling, I redid the chest piece as you can see. Gotta idea for the helmet, going to try to make it universal between the two as well :) The thigh thing was just a piece that was part of the original suit it was being modeled after, but its turned into something else then what it originally was ment to... What should i do inplace of the thigh part? open to all suggestions :)

Holster or scabbard are always popular. I'd fall for a wearable computer-like gizmo, but I'm not objective there, being a Hard science fan. Very attractive work so far. I hope it is for V2 (sorry Emily, your stakes are too high for me...) Compiler

I'll agree with Compilor - since I need wearable computers for my graphic novel. (wrist as welll as thigh)

hrm, really sorry to ask guys but ya think you could point me to a example of the wearable computer-like gizmo thingy your refering to? just a example so i can get a idea, just can't see a monitor n' case, let alone a laptop strapped to her/his thigh giggle

Can't find an idea of a link right now, but Imeant something like a data reader, or PDA, or body monitor. Something with a small screen, some pads with symbolic inscriptions, some luminescent display, and may be an holographic screen like the one in Dodger's life form reader. I think that Final Fantasy X made use of such things. Hope this gives a clue. Compiler PS : oh, and add a machine that goes "ping". Just in case a female character is pregnant around. Ooops. Monty Pythoning again. Sorry...

caleb68 ( ) posted Fri, 24 January 2003 at 5:27 PM

hrm wouldn't that be more of a forearm thing? datareader/pda type deal, yeah they used them in Final Fantasy Movie but it was on the forearm rather then down on the thigh, thigh would be more... hrm... armor orientated sense its more open to damage. I knew i was thinking something dif then you guys, glad I asked :)

You are right, but what about a plug-in unit ? Something where you could plug cables to read the personal data, a la Ghost in the Shell. This would give a cool cyberpunk effect. Howzat ? Compiler
