Subject: Just a suggestion to modelers

I took a little informal unscientific poll on my site about how many people are still using pre-4 poser programs and it may surprise you to know of the large amount of poser users didn't rush out and upgrade to 4 and still haven't as they mostly are now waiting for 5 and want to see what it will be like with the change of ownership you might say. Now for the biggest complaint and there is a lot of modellers in here who should pay attention to this one as it will affect what a lot of poser users feel about you. When you make a model available for download on Renderosity would it be too much trouble to just put "For Poser 4 only" if it reouires the poser 4 nude woman or some other file that is native to poser 4 only. The aggravation of loading a model and then having an error which in most cases you end up rebooting to get rid of is not something that endears you to people because the said model is for Poser 4 only. I have had this happen to me on occasion also and it is very aggravating. Certainly people appreciate the time and work you put in to making the models and are very thankful to those who make models in this forum. Would it really be that much trouble to put a notice stating the above? Some of you already do this and thus save people from the need to reboot and then have to go into poser and delete all the files that were unnecessarily loaded in the first case. Again just a suggestion.

I agree, I'm one of those who ,when P4 1st came out ,I heard about alot of bugs. So I decided to wait for the patches to come out and listen to see if it was better ,but it seems that the patches took a while and now I may just go ahead and wait for P5 Anyway .. After downloading a few P4 things I learned what type of things were specifically for P4,and just didnt download them.things like obvious trans maps. But I agree that typing two little charecters( P3 or P4)shouldnt be too much to add when posting . Hawkfyr

None of the models should require anything Poser specific, that is unless it is a .PP2 file(Poser prop), Could you be a little more specific? Becuase the way it sounds your post is directed more at Poser character creators, and not modellers. Please be a bit more specific as to what models you are referring to.

I apologise as you are right FastTraxx. It is the characters I am referring to and I am sorry for not making that clearer. The characters that require specific poser 4 files to be able to use them are the ones I am referring to.

Good Deal, I was a little confused. I agree with you, characters and clothing as well as some smart props do need to be specified as to what versions of Poser they are intended for use in. FT

I agree while I have Poser4 a friend has Poser 3 and when he downloads a character more than half the time it won't work because it is P4 not P3. He wants to download more characters but he got kind of frustrated. Marge
