Hi guys, i uploaded a bunch of new freebies as you might know but there's a major issue thats happening thats going to cause my webserver to go up/down alot. one of the systems is being downrun by a huge DOSS attack, more about it can be read at the attached link, so its affecting my webserver being online, sorry all :( i just uploaded 4 textures too :( hopefully we will be back up and running really soon! *crosses fingers*

just goes to show why webservers should never be ms based, the dos attack and problems lately ( this weekend ) online are from a worm attacking ms sql2000 servers. is your host is under attack, then they should get rid of windows sql2000 server on thier box, it will stop the problem. over 22000 such servers were infected at start of attack. and they would attack any sql server, infecting ms sql2000 servers, and possibly crash the server under attack. hmm, sounds like some system admins were just to lazy to do thier jobs..since the patch was available around 6 months ago. so your hosting company has failed twice. 1 by using windows based servers 2 by not putting security patches in when they should

its because they get routed through that one as one of the main servers, so no real way to get around it. Gotta hate it when your stuck between a rock n' a hard place because of something someone else does :/ Sites still down, no word yet when it will be back up. I'm still crossing my fingers and hoping for the best, man talk about my bad timing for picking to do something ;)

No problem. These DOS attacks are becoming a bit like Internet's storms. You stay inside until they pass, and you get out once it is over, pick up the odd broken pot and that's it. Of course, I'm speaking as a user. I can imagine the frantic week-end that many admins have gone through. All my sympathy goes to them, and to you caleb68.
