I have a problem with the Cat WalkDesigner, single work the back legs but not front them.

Hi Estruch,

Is it my file you're having problems with? If so then I noticed the same problems at first, although I /thought/ I'd got it fully fixed with the one I posted once it's set up as described in the Readme file. It won't look right in the preview window or walking in place, but it should look okay moving along a walk path.

My apologies if it's still not working (and walking) even after following the Readme file instructions. I'll have to go back and check it again, because if you've got problems then I'm sure other people have as well.

Try applying the pose file directly to the cat once you've got your walk path set up and your walk applied. The pose is in the Pose library under WalkDesigner, called 'Cat Walk'. You need to reapply it every 30th frame (i.e. once on frame 1, once on frame 31, once on frame 61, and so on). Once you've done that it should behave itself.

I've got a more detailed description of that workaround at home. If you need it then post here or IM me, and I'll get it to you once I'm back there and don't have to wake anybody up to get at the computer, which is likely to be tomorrow morning UK time.

After disable IK chain run the Cat Walk with cats and the ocelot. Not run the tiger and the lion.

Woo, you're even testing it on other animals! Thank you, Estruch! :)

The lion doesn't have quite the same body parts as the cat. I'm working on a walk cycle for that at the moment (it's not finished yet though), as you can see.

This lion walking very well.

Cool. Where can I get the walk design files for these cycles? Aharon

HaiGan ( ) posted Fri, 24 January 2003 at 1:58 AM

Hi Aharon,

The cat walk cycle for Walk Designer is in my freestuff. I'm currently converting the run animation into WalkDesigner-suitable form (just got to tweak it so its legs don't slide backwards and forwards along the path). The lion is also still in progress. I'll have the cat run and the lion walk up in freestuff just as soon as they're finished.

Thanks for the interest. :)
