I just buyed a brand new HD and decided to install Win XP, I'm working on a project (I have to admit it is huge) but it seems that Xp can manage my project like win2k, it crashed frequently and is really slow... any imput?

none that I have found... I even used Bryce 5 with XP beta and had no troubles... very stable.

Have to agree with unclebob! The most stable system ive had so far. It also handles memory much better than previous Windows.

Make sure all your drivers are up to date and compatable with XP.

thax guys, I think the fault is just only of my project.... soon you'll see (for the moment is 10Hrs render.....)

I am new to Bryce 4. I have a prob. my program won't run, got it in a goodie bag along with some other stuff. Does any one know if Bryce 4 has a problem running in Win XP??

Also, if you havent done it yet, download the new servicepack for XP. Fixes some bugs, and compability problems! ...or so they say... :)

The only way I crash B5 on XP is to do it deliberately. Managed to crash XP only 5 times since I got it over a year ago. I've been able to lock B5 up a few times, but then discovered it's because of the preview window trying to render a too complex scene or something with volumetric atmosphere.

I think I can count the number of XP crashes on one hand over a year - as many as on W95 on a single day.

The XP service pack, I'm told, allows Microsoft to poke around in your PC as and when they please and do what they like to it.

Phantast, It's called remote assistance. If you require some help to solve a problem you may give someone access to your system. It's easy to turn off, I just keep it off same with file sharing. No problems with XP, it's never crashed on my system.
