Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 26 9:00 am)
Hi Kev, In Corel Photopaint, I opened the "Barbarian VeinBump.png" file; it is all white but if you look carefully, it has all the veins masked out (with dotted lines). I inverted the mask and used the fill tool to colour the background, i.e. the non-vein parts of the map black, thereby causing the white veins to stand out. Next, I removed all the masks covering the veins and saved the file as the bitmap (bmp). Within Poser, I applied the bitmap to Michael as a bump map (which Poser then converted automatically to the BUM format). Hope the above helps!
Kevschmev , What version of photoshop do you have ? I have 7 and it handles a PNG well You could take it into PSP and save it as a photo shop file or In PSP copy the layer than paste it back in as a new layer. Then go back to the original layer and paint it solid black . You shold see the viens then . There kind of transparent and hard to see in a solid white back ground. You can do like Arendar said or you can make a copy of Michael's bump map bring it into your paint program and paste the viens into a new layer move them around till there were you want them then flaten and save as a new bump map.
Got It! All I had to do in PSP was load from Alpha channel(under mask) and then paste the mike 2 bump as a layer underneath. Then save it as M2BodyBumpVeinHi(jpg or bmp)in the RuntimeTexturesDAZCharactersMilMan folder and the pose file works a treat! I've got Photoshop6 if I had version 7, I probably would've figured this out sooner. I am very annoyed at how easy this was to do and the fact that there was no menton of it in the read me. Never mind. Cheers Kev.
The Readme file for the Warlords Collection Barbarian specifically states that the MAT file that looks for M2BodyBumpVeinHi is for owners of the Michael 2.0 Character Set 1 that came with the bonus bump map. As per the PNG file, that is a vein map for use in Photoshop or other editors to layer on top of whatever bump map you use with Michael. Mask it out by alpha channel and apply it on top of your Michael Bump map.

On the product page at daz it says the packages includes 1 Vein Map Png to Apply to any Michael Bump Map. Okay, how? It won't open in photoshop and when I open it in PSP, it's just a plain white canvas! What exactly am I supposed to do with it? Please help Cheers Kev.
