Hi there, I am looking for a dozen cat owners who might want to beta the new cat. It is still being built but I thought I would ask now since out mailing list doesn't sort by pet owners. :) This is the general base class which is a "Shorthir". Within that class are dozens of breeds. Just need to me short. If possible, and for the sake of beta testing, I am looking for people who might own a purebreed of shorthair. This I need for morph authenticity. Or anyone familiar with show cats and cat judging. Though not madatory, purebreed owners are important. Beta people will be needed to test morph accuracy, posing, etc against their own pets. :) Testest get the cat free when complete. I own three cats, 2 short hairs, one medium hair. The short hairs are mutt tabbies, but the medium hair is a Turkish Van cat, I believe. I'll get some photos of the spoiled ones tonight. Cheers!

This is one of my babies, but unfortunately I don't have him anymore. I always thought the markings on his face were interesting. I do have a lot of photographs of him as well as the cat I still have (a Tuxedo cat).

I have a purbred cat, but she's a longhair, flatface Himalayan. But I also have a gorgeous shorthair domestic. A beauty too. And he's such a character ;). I can send you a pic of both if you like. The shorthair is gorgeous. An orange tiger, but the buff colored phase with hardly any stripes. He's almost pink....LOL. Laurie

You better take your time and get it right, 'cause the cat lovers around here are going to be much fussier (and vocal) than the dino-fans. We still miss our pretty little Calico; please include one in the texture maps. The orange marmalade at the top is another favorite. Oh heck, I can't have a houseful of cats, so I'll settle for a big bunch of cat textures for my computer!

Anton, you may have created a Frankenstein! The effects of last week's virus attack will pale compared to the deluge of cat pictures you're about to receive. The DAZ mail server is going to be brought to its knees!

Hrm. My only purebreed short hair is a Manx, and their anatomy is structured a bit differently around the lower spine and rear legs. And the lack of a tail, of course. And I doubt my Maine Coon monster would help out either. Ah, well, I'll watch and envy and wait for public release.

FrankJann, The toiliet method is even tougher. The cat's legs spread out to exceed the diameter of the opening. Additionally, you need both hands to handle the cat making it near impossible to close the toilet lid. :-)

This is George. She isn't a purebreed, just pure crazy - but when you want the Poses beta tested, get in touch. If the Millennium Cat can do THIS, I'll take a crateload. :-)

I've seen that pose on our cat and come to think of it, maybe Ajax's easypose techniques would be more appropriate for a cat...

Lots of cat lovers here. Tough job posing a cat on both real and modelled. You know these animals are like contortionists hehehe. I have two cats, one is probably too alienish in her features, but Jonesy is a classic domestic cat and my ginger shadow (see top pic in first post) although lately he has taken to ambushing me walking down the hallway at night. I have one tan siamese, one white half siamese, two grey tabbies and one long haired siamese/persian white/tan cat. So I guess the variety might help... Just let me know what it takes to be a tester

Anton, count me in if you can. I have an 18 month old gray tabby. She's a jumper. Loves to sit on the top of the bookcase or in the overhead storage. I was working on a mat for the poser cat but didn't quite finish it. She wasn't all that cooperative for some of the shots.

Here's my youngest. (His name is Sherlock, but he answers to Freak among other names. He's done full, 360 degree flips in the air and can jump 4 feet straight up from standing still.) If you've ever wondered: yes, if a cat has different colored eyes, the eyes reflect very different colors.

Crescent - That looks just like my cat... she has one green eye one yellow eye LOL okay.. might need to add a few more years.. certainly a few more pounds..

Giggling.. I own 5 cats, that is they own me! A siamese is my cup of tea! I present Star! My baby! I would love to see a real looking cat from Daz!

Actually, Sherlock has one blue eye and one yellow eye. His eyes are pretty freaky, especially when they catch the light. (Well, the cat's pretty freaky in general, but he's incredibly loving in his own way.) He's 7 pounds - all fur. (As compared to our black cat who's slimmed down to 21 pounds. He used to be heavier than a bowling ball.)

I have to say, I'm enjoying seeing what everyone's pet looks like.

Anton, My cat is purebred, of decent championship stock (her aunt is pictured in one of the catbooks), but Norwegian Forest Cats don't qualify as short-haired. Pity. Skrogg and I will gladly oblidge when you want to check conformation on the longer haired beasts. BTW, thanks for making us a real cat! Carolly

If it's not too late I have 5 of them too, long hair short hair, active, sedate, every one of them with a different personnality. Cats don't have owners they have staff,underpaid and long hours :-) You can see two of my cuties on my artist's page. Great to know there is going to be a new cat,especially if you guys incorporate all the cr2 advances for joint controlled morphs and the such, can't wait.

I've got 3 in the house (don't know how that happened, perhaps somewhere in there with the second puppy). The one on the left is my boyfriend and my's Absynian, Spike, and the cutie on the left is my Japenese Bobtail, Mushu. Bootsie, my domestic, doesn't sit still long enough to pose. He sees the camera and runs.

That was supposed to be "cutie on the right". I'm tired. LOL

Hya Anton. I have a Manx cat. She is a beautiful but crazy entity. and might be useful for you to look at. Manx have extremely long and big hind legs and their body shape is a little different from the average cat. Might be a challenge here for you in the making of morphs? Here she is going down a tree. I can take more shots for you if you want them.

That picture is the right way up lol. that's the way trees grow. Trunk and branches pointing upwards lol. But this cat can walk up or down a tree no problem. She is a very special crazy creature.
