Finishing up downloading models. I had Fired off an e-mail to David Owen summarizing everything, making sure he's fine with it all. Getting it all back to Great Buildiings may take a little longer than thought, I see they offer their downloads in .zip, .sit, or uncompressed format. So I'll be making up all three for each building. With that much stuff, I'll most likely be burning it to CD and snail-mailing it back. Unless he just wants me to upload it to a ftp server of theirs. Once I get the final go-ahead from Great Buildings, I will want to offer up a few of the .3ds version buildings and have you boys and girls "beta-test" them. Making sure more people than just me can load them into their Bryce and or Poser, etc, etc. I especially want anyone with any Bryce prior to version 4. *Don't know what the heck I'm talking about in here? Thank you ever so much AgentSmith for taking the time to arrange all of this for us you have done a grand job. That sounds like a great idea Zanny even if there were no prizes involved, although perhaps Artifice would display the winner and runners up images. I'm so looking forward to being able to just D/L these models and start playing straight away should be a lot of fun. Catlin

As far as converting goes, I got that all covered, got a guy that can batch convert them all at once, automatically. And, it's better that all the models are converted from one source, lowers the amount of variables if there are problems loading the files. But, thanks for asking! Thanks for the offers of testing, I'm sure they will come out fine, but I just want to make sure. I'll post when I get any word from Great Buildings. AgentSmith

Well, I'm happy to see that others have picked up my lead on contacting David Owen over at Artifice and are getting things really rolling here. Looks like this plan is really getting together. That's absolutely great! I have Bryce 4 and 5 installed on my machine. If you need any help in that direction, let me know. I think the batch conversion off of one source is a very technically sound idea. Good work all! Don't you just love it when a plan comes together? Cant wait to see all these buildings metamorphosed out in your masterpieces.

Yeah! Maybe we can have challenges (besides the monthly ones) using one building at a time? That would be a lot of fun!

Well I'll sit here with my fingers crossed and hope Artifice don't let us down. Anyone ever thought that they might not want 3ds and want Bryce conversions because they can't do it themselves. Sorry, I was just thinking that everyone is getting so excited that there is the possibility that it might not happen I'm just out of bed and I have a cold so please forgive the..............doom and gloom. I would think if they can find the Create presets, click Import, browse, open the .obp, then insert it into the Bryce scene... They can figure out File>Import>Browse>Double-Click. Lol, just a hopeful guess. ;oD GET WELL!! AS
