I'll be posting this head texture to freestuff once it's totally finished. Any comments would really help, I want this to be perfect by the time I finish! Mary

She seems a bit to light skined. But we know that there are soooo many variations on color... I take that back, it's not the lightness, it's the default orange light that reaks havoc with color. Try a render with the lights variations of grey. The lips are great! James

Vanessa Williams is a good example of a fair skinned African American. Every ethnicity has a variation of skin tones. Caucasian tones range from almost blue white to deep tans. This is lovely work. Diveristy is a great thing and I hope to see more. Melanie

Excellent work! Maybe I won't have to just play with tweaking the model colors after all! :-)

I like it just the way it is. Excellent work.

Hi Folks! I couldn't agree with you more, Allie! But I think canary makes a good start. I don't wanna start a flame war here, but I hope y'all artists out there aren't envisioning Vanessa L. Williams as the representative model for what most African American women should look like. She ain't. I'm all for diversity, but with the exception of a Naomi Campbell model several months ago, too many of the AA woman illustrations posted here look like European women with swarthy tans.
