While your intentions were no doubt good the results are somewhat tastless. I'm not exactly sure that an image of a the shuttle engulfed in flames is a fitting "tribute". What you did is more a sensationalization of the accident than a tribute to the crew and mission. Your image should have contained a photo of the INTACT shuttle. Think of it this way: Would the families of any of the seven crew members want to display your image in their homes? Doubtfull as it is a reminder of the disaster. A tribute should contain a reminder of better times.
Every healthy shuttle on reentry is ablaze in an flaming ionized air. Nothing is going to make a tragedy a feel good sensation. The honest reactions in the faces on Earth have more feeling than your idea of a Hallmark card. Are their any healthy people here? ................................................... "Every healthy shuttle on reentry is ablaze in an flaming ionized air" Even if it was true, the flames would not be coming out of the windows as they appear to be in your image. Somehow though I knew you'd have some excuse. Anyone moronic enough to post the image you did of course would. I suggest you take a look at some of the other images in the "memorial" gallery. You'll see that no one else was callus and stupid enough to depict a shuttle on fire.
Abusive? I dont think so. I would however say that you are insensitive. Once again, even if a shuttle is "ablaze in an flaming ionized air" as you put it ,upon reentry, it is upon reentry that the shuttle was destroyed. Only somene who wasn't thinking would call an image like yours a "tribute". It's tactless. Concerning my gallery I believe you found it to be empty. I do not feel it necessary to post any work here as I'm not interested in anyone's opinions on it. If you post work you should beprepared for opinions both positive and negative. It seems you are not.
You can say I have no eye for "esthetic sophistication" but no understanding of poetry? Ouch. You really know to hit below the belt. It'll take me sometime to recover from that one. All I'm saying is, after a space shuttle explodes durring reentry to then post an image of a shuttle with flames bursting out of it (on the very day no less) is to say the least, inappropriate. The fact that you can't see that is totally mind boggling.
