here is the link...sorry and it is Dark Whisper'sTime saver....it is very fast and works great...so I guess it may be for those who have troubles with UV mapper and time saving....I love it and I know UV mapper but this works so easily how could I say no....I need all the time I can too, you just add a texture say it is for V3 or V2 and there it is....that is it. Sharen
"For one thing, you can convert V3 maps to V2 maps. That way you can use a real V2 and her body morphs". Is that not possible using Uvmapper and the V2 files???

The UVMapper process with the Daz mapper files is a one way process. V2 textures -> V3. Dark Whisper's app does BOTH ways, allowing for V2 to use V3 textures something not possible any other way yet without the app. One of the advantages would be say not owning V3 forwhatever reasons, but loving a new V3 texture. With Dark Whipsers app the V2 model owner can use V2, her clothing items and a V3 texture, without having to purchase a new model. Time saver, cost saver. I'm trying to talk myself into shelling out the $30 for the converter app and find more justification for it. With the V3 clothing issues with V2 clothing, this app would allow you to use the V3 texture on V2 and not have to fight clothing issues, cause everything would be V2. Again, time saving. Only thing, I wish Daz had come up with this and charged a little less money, but Dark Whisper's app is getting great reviews and seems to do what it says it does. my 2 cents.
hmmm..... OK I just can't justify $30 on an app such as this right now...plus there are just tons of textures for V2...I surely don't need to buy V3 textures for her.... Again...is it not possible to use uvmapper to change the mapping from v3 to v2 ???? would it not be the same as going in the other direction??? Not sure why I would want to do this anyway, as I only have the V3 hi res tex from DAZ..and a couple of free ones...

I'm not sure I can justify spending the money either. I guess the only reason I can think that I might want to convert a V3 texture to V2 is the clothes thing, but I don't use all that many clothes anyway, I usually paint alot of things, and not having many outfits for V3 has forced me to work on my painting skills, so that's a good thing. Dark Whispers application is absolutely wonderful and very easy to use, I tried out the demo ... although I wasn't able to fully see if it worked properly, since the demo places big ugly red "DEMOS" all over the map. You raise a very good question about the backwards mapping thing Dave, I wonder if anyone has tried it.
So far nobody has come up with a way to use V3 maps on V2 other than this app. I'm not exactly sure that I would do it either, and the Daz UVmapper files work for me. I keep thinkin maybe it would be useful for animaton purposes haveing V2 stand in as a V3 and less taxing on system resources. Maybe thats one reason to use V3 maps on V2. I'm having a hard time justifying the cost also, though saving the time not using UVMapper might be worth it. UVMapper and I aren't getting along cause it's not making a lot of sence to me yet. Others that are confused by UVMapper would probably say that the Dark Whisper app is a point and click solution. shrug Guess it boils down to what ya need to acomplish and how much time ya want to spend getting that done.
i may get it when it has the plugs to transfer all the maps...but, here is my concern...some of the high res vicki maps are huge....my remapped v3 can wear them all happily. but, if i did it with the programs, i would in effect be duplicating my v2 textures....one for v2, another for v3. is that right?
Yes Poppi, you would have two ... one for V2 and one for V3, whichever way you convert. Course, you don't have to do them all, maybe only when you need one specifically. It only takes a very short time to convert them ... at least with the demo. Larger maps may take a bit longer. But, I'm kinda' like you ... my remapped V3 takes everything very well. I've got enough stuff in my Runtime folder already. Thanks for posting the message about the large maps Sharen, that's definitely an added advantage.
I created a PDF tutorial on how to remap V3. its here if ur inetersted :) http://homepage.ntlworld.com/vayne_xianah/How_To_Uv_Map_V3.pdf hope that helps... Good thing about a remap V3 is she takes all V2 textures & she can still use V3 morph injections... the only difference between her and a regular v3 is she doesn't use V3 textures.... There were some posts on how to use the UV maps that come with Victoria 3... how do I use those? They will not open in any program I have, including UV mapper
