Photoshop F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 06 5:28 am)
Our mission is to provide an open community and unique environment where anyone interested in learning more about Adobe Photoshop can share their experience and knowledge, post their work for review and critique by their peers, and learn new techniques while developing the skills that allow each individual to realize their own unique artistic vision. We do not limit this forum to any style of work, and we strongly encourage people of all levels and interests to participate.
Checkout the Renderosity MarketPlace - Your source for digital art content!
What i'd like to see is more of the forum members posting here with either a question on "how to do something" - or with the explaination on "how to do something".
What's to stop anyone from posting a Photoshop piece here in the forum and explain some of the steps or effects taken?
As long as people play well and take in consideration not everyone is at the same level of experience, i think we can really showoff just what PS is capable of doing. This would require the people responding to have compassion and understanding when replying to the post and thick skin for the person posting ;)
PS. PhotoshopWorld 2003 is coming up in few days (Feb 19-21) and i can't make it!! (still in the middle of house renov's and straped for funds...) so if anyone goes, write us and let us know!!!
see ya around

Although some images may fit into more than one catagory, usually they will fit best in one. In the photography gallery for examply i see (and have submitted myself) some "borderline" photos that have been tweaked in PS or some other program. I think basic bright/contrast/and some color saturation adjustment is fine, because I believe these techniques are common photolab techniqes that can be applied to any image, and they dont obscure the original photo, like adding lightning. But what about combining two original photos, and blending them together in the middle, would that be a 2D or a photography submittal?

click the link. This man has been printing ONLY in darkrroms for almost 50 years, and be damned if many people can equal his work even with photoshop.bookmarked and ready to devour the info

PS; as for the original point of this thread...
Renderosity won't, in the near future, have a gallery specifically for PS. Many of the reasons are stated above. There is also the fact that, to a lot of the members here in Renderosity, PS is only for postwork and is just a tool to tweek 3D renders.
this guy has 8 enlargers in his basement, all set up the exact same way. He rarely uses more than 4 for a print, but he doies every now and then. If you've ever seen The Outer Limits, that part in the opening credits with the house with roots growing out its bottom, was entirely based on a uelsmann photograph that was animated speciically for the show's opening credits. The guy was a madman. He used to teach at the University of Florida, though I think he's retired now. He is still printing new work incidently, hasn't stopped for almost 40 years. The guy is a master. It doesn't mean "better" grim, he's just been doing what many people though would only be possible (to achieve the effects as well as he does) if done in photoshop.... 3 decades before it was available. ficiticous smacks grim in the crotch, "Score another one for me" heh heh...

As probably the most useful and ubiquitous application, there is no featured gallery. I assumed that without merchandising Adobe here, there is no financial motivation.
