Welcome to the Poser Technical Forum.

This is the place you come to ask questions and share new ideas about using the internal file structure of Poser to push the program past it's normal limits.

Windows Error "You need a lot more memory..."? Yeah I've had that one before! It usually comes right before"You are about to get very upset" No, seriously...how experienced are you at setting Virtual Memory and ending processes? VM can be accessed via R-clicking my computer-properties-advanced-performance options-change. I usually put the pagefile on a drive(not partition) other than the op sys. Try setting the max to 4095(if you have the free space). Another thing to check, is to open Task Manager(ctrl-alt-del)and check to see if there are any processes that you can shut down. I recommend not shutting down anything that you are not sure of. In Task Manager, you can get an idea of how your resources are being used. Try bumping up the VM, and shut down anything you don't need running.
Hmmm, I had the same problem with the mil dragon with all textures loaded...I took the textures into photoshop and reduced them by half, and now it works fine... But V3 doesn't, to my knowledge, have all the textures in place....It's a big obj, but definatly not the biggest. Is this with no morphs injected? From my understanding, the figure with all the morphs weighs in around 120 meg, about 6 times Vicki2. just guessing...
I have had something like that when an .obj couldn't be found. Check the CR2 for the location, see if it is there. I have also heard that the .RSR in the geometry folder can get all B'JIGITY. I haven't done it, but I have seen recommendations to delete the .RSR, it is supposed to be replaced the next time the .obj is opened by Poser. I am not sure, due to the fact that I have never needed to do anything like that. A second opinion is probably best.
This message has nothing to do with memory. It is Poser's generic "There's something I can't find" message. Usually it's the ojb/rsr that either isn't there at all or has been corrupted in some way.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Okay, I'm frustrated and pulling out my hair. Please help. I've installed Vicki 3 but when I try to add her to a scene, I get an error saying I need to alot more memory. I can't do this per app in Windows 2000, so Poser simply crashes and burns. I have over a half-gig of RAM on a Pentium 3. Please tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks.
