I'm sitting here looking at an empty canvas just trying to figure out what to do next, but I'm having a hard time coming up with something. I wanna do a building scene but I'm not sure if I feel comfortable doing that yet...not sure. Anyone else just hate it when this happens???? Frustrated, MadDog31 ~~:-|

I don't have a problem coming up with ideas maddog, my problem is figuring out how to the work in Bryce. I say just start on the building scene and it will evolve as you go. You must have an idea on what you would like to see in the scene.

Just do the building scene. We all get this at some point. The trick is to do "impossible" things as often as you can.

For me if I get stuck I sometimes take a walk to clear my head and whe I get back I can usually get going.

My blocks consist of the base creation of 2-4 starts and then I wait a day. LOL

Just start making a building. The ideas will flow from there. I do this at times, and usually re-do a scene 2-3 times because I want to improve something. The re-do's tend to go quicker and quicker, repetition makes things easier and faster. So....... Start making a building!!!! TMG

Generally I try to do the most dificult thing I can, first it was perfect radiosity, then metaballs. I suggest metaballs. They are really challenging and fun.

Take a break for a few days, or try something you've never tried before. One or both of those things usually works for me ;-) Doug

It happens to us all and all you can do is play about with the toys until something grabs your attention, at least thats what I do. Anyway, you've been hard at it in Bryce for weeks now and perhaps all you need is a break. Try something completely different, ie. go download a demo of something you've always wanted to try and give it a go. :) Catlin

Well Catlin, I think right now that's a good idea to be honest. I just finished my Cisco CCNA classes and I really need to be studying that stuff up as hard as I can. I think what I'll do is take this week off of Bryce...or at least part of the week, study hard for my CCNA certification and then when I return, I may take part in the monthly challenge and go from there. The week off will allow me to do that AND hopefully come up with a cool idea for the challenge, although we shall see. :) Thanks for the replys everyone! MadDog31

Did you say buildings?! You`ll do great buildings bro. The biggest problem is imagining detail etc.....what I do is peruse books and sights on architecture for the style of building I like until I get an idea and go from that pic. Sometimes I try to make it exactly and sometimes it serves as a start point. For great painted textures go to www.davegh.com ...the BEST. Try to pick a building with a minimum of curves so you wont get frustrated with that. Then as you get more comfortable with buildings go on to more involved buildings. If you like older buildings then Egyptian and Greek temples are fun to do. Or take one as a start point and create your own. Put a pool in the center of it, the color and reflection will be nice. Add some shadows in the corner for mystery. Above all dont be shy about trying new things....thats the best thing about graphics. If you want to see a few cool buildings check my site www.dimeolas.com . I have the luxury when I want to Bryce of letting the machine get the phone, locking the door, putting on Internet Oasis from www.live365.com and just playing in Bryce. Very relaxing. Hope this helps, Scott

Take some time to experiment, play around without a specific goal. I made a interesting picture that way with just trees, lights and infinite planes. Took more time to render than to make. Did that once and it was fun. You could also take a break and walk around.
