Did you try to make an animation with your technics/landscapes ;-)

Hey Thomas,
don't worry too much... I have the same
problem from time to time. You just can't
enforce inspiration. I like to look at
some old masters at www.artrenewal.org
to get some new ideas, works great for me.
Take it easy, ideas will come back! And you're
not the only one with this problem, a lot of
people and artists know it.

Take a break from the computer Thomas, and get out that pencil and paper. Your a great sketcher as well, and a change in media may be what you need ;o) Cheers

This happens to all of us sometimes. Don't force. Just wait. HAve a look around you, see nice places, nice images on the web, in the galleries, everywhere. Inspiration will come back:-) Guitta

Man it must be the moon, I have and also others have just been in this rut...hold on, it will come to you. Sharen

When that happens to me I look a tons of galleries. Something will catch my eye and that will be the start of the next project. It may be ideas I see on several pieces that I put togeather in a new idea. I think almost everything has already been created already so you can only improve really on what has already been done. Unless of course you do outragous art like dead rats. Oh wait that's been done! But you get the idea. Don't limit yourself to the galleries here, look all over the web.

Thomas, do a search on the web for HUDSON RIVER SCHOOL. We had a challenge for it 2 years ago. This is YOUR style. You may find the ideas you want. Some sample pages (but there are lots others) http://www.northnet.org/hildreth/ish_pic.htm http://www.askart.com/Interest/TopHudson_A.asp http://www.byu.edu/moa/exhibits/Current%20Exhibits/150years/150chron2.html You will love it:-) Guitta

I agree with Cheers, Thomas. Get away from the computer for a while. Go to the library, look at some art books and magazines. Go to some art galleries and museums. Don't just sit and surf sites, get out and about and look around you. Watch the skies. I think often we get so wired into our online lives and working with software, that we forget to enjoy and be inspired by the world around us. Sometimes a walk in a park can do wonders!!

Thomas, I agree get away from your computer for a while. See some movies, perhaps something like Out of Africa, Greystoke --The legend of Tarzan, or any number of great films with beautiful and exotic scenery.

True, get away from the computer for a while. Open your eyes and look what others do. Painters, designers, photographers etc. Play around. Don't try to concentrate everything to your own possibilities, try to find out how others are doing their things. Ideas will flow again! And if you really need a theme. I have a project in mind (for some weeks now) which maybe could be really interesting. Arcimboldo! Try to copy one of these! www.illumin.co.uk/svank/biog/arcim/arcidx.html I think i don't have the energy to do it, but maybe someone else (YOU?) does have it! Walther

That's the same for me. Difficult to know what to do in that case. Two suggestions : - Surf on renderosity gallery (I mean all the galleries of course). That's what I try to do every day. Not possible to see all the pics, but you choose with the thumb. Surely you will find some nice idea - go on "art theory", a thread was posted concerning the loss of inspiration. Some interesting suggestions were done (for example, take time to make a list of all you want to do in order not to forget later,...) You should search this post Hope it helps, ;=) Yves

Thanks for all the help.. to all of you who told me to get away from the computer... I am away :)! Still, no inspiration to be found. I think i'll try Hudson River School... Thanks :) - Thomas

you're not away from the computer - as everybody can see!!! Try something completely different - no landscape for the next three days! Except real ones! And real ones are not done in Vue, don't forget that! They only appear when you open the door and walk out. :-) Walther

Hi Thomas, As everybody said - everybody has the same problem. I had and I have too...It was a time a couple months ago I did not do any new scene for a month or two. I had no inspiration. As you probably know I love underwater scenes so I bought a few magazines for divers and about diving and it gave me some inspiration...for sure do not harry just wait... :) cermit

To some people, your gallery is my inspiration everytimes I look at it.....and there are pieces of arts I appreciated and from my eye I see nature and no Vue....and I can feel that nature :) When I saw the natures(scene), I feel like painting that from my own nature with brush (Vue)...That's how I see it you are not running out of inspiration but I think you got to have a peace of mind to feel about that.. :) Ed

Dobbelcheese ( ) posted Mon, 10 February 2003 at 7:41 PM

Have you ever tried to create something "uglier" or "crippled" like a land after war, a dying forest etc... you already have 3 gallery pages full of beautiful landscape pics, maybe you could try out something different. My lack of inspiration ends for a while every time I come up with some new approach to old ideas.. which I have some even now. They seem to be damn hard to produce though, then I'm out of inspiration again.. :)
