"Get in there and see what skipper says. You've pestered around our ground base trying to sell your life insurance once too often when we're busy. Never mind if you thought our ship was a ground building. And you won't see your briefcase again. Nor your fancy efficient business mobile phone: unauthorized possession of communications gear in a security area."

This spaceship control room (= bridge) interior turned up in Renderotica. #%$ alone knows why it was put there: I see nothing sexy about it. Shows that it is always useful to check Renderotica even if you don't fancy erotica. It is $10, about 8 megabytes zipped. (The old boat mooring chain sometimes seen lying on the seabed in my diving scenes, started its life in a bondage prop set.) Here are 3 views of it; the men are not included. - - - - - -

2 spacemen made from my wetsuitman, minus head, plus Joerg's space helmet, with Poser's head-only model parented to the helmet. One of them's lifesupport backpack is my propane flamethrower re-posed and re-textured. Also an Enterprise crewman from the Renderosity freestuff.

... "we aren't on the ground" ??? His holding cell is going to be an airlock. Well, if he was peddling insurance, he ought to be able to calculate his life expectancy. Carolly

This is the new space ship bridge set from X2000, if I'm not mistaken. It also went on sale recently at Animotions, which is where I saw it. It's pretty sweet. -jjsemp

Renderotica to the best of my knowledge was created so people had a choice to post whatever images they wished to, whether they were "erotic" or not and there are all sorts of things there for all sorts of genres. It's a great place. One of the same people at Renderotica also is over Animotions which is probably why you saw it in both places.

Anthony Appleyard ( ) posted Tue, 11 February 2003 at 11:41 AM

Sorry: what is X2000? Re message 7: I was merely pointing out that this sort of useful model may well go unnoticed if it is buried among a lot of leather and rubber and bondage etc stuff and scanty women's clothing.

guarie ( ) posted Tue, 11 February 2003 at 2:47 PM

X2000 is the creator of this set. He chooses not to be a vendor here and sells over at the other sites like Renderotica, Animotions etc. I don't think the reason he sells there has anything to do with the type of products that are normally sold there :) And since you found it there and purchased it, means that there is a market for it at Renderotica, however small ;)

leather and rubber and bondage stuff is appropriate attire at Renderotica... lol. Its the site theme, you know... lol if you don't want to see bondage and leather and rubber latex stuff and other kinky or intimate attire, you can visit Renderotica's sister site Animotions, most of the people that sell non-erotic stuff at Renderotica also sell at Animotions too. (and X2000 sells in both stores)

".hey, it's your stuff, and you obviously didn't give permission..looks like a couple of gruff calls to Renderotica are in order. Sorry to see them do this. " pakled, I see nothing in Anthony's posts that implies that Renderotica used something of his. This set is indeed x2000's Starship Bridge, which in for sale at renderotica and AniMotions. I appreciate the fact that members try to look out for other aertists, but sometimes there seems to be a tendency to jump to conclusions. What Anthony was pointing out is that EVERYTHING on Renderotica is not specifically geared toward erotica (although that's not to say that you couldn't do some pretty hot things on a starship bridge, if you so desire). So, it's worth your while to check out the store there if you like the site and want to support it. You might be surprised at what you find.

Anthony Appleyard ( ) posted Tue, 11 February 2003 at 4:20 PM

"And since you found it there and purchased it" I didn't find it by searching: Renderotica sent out an email circular which listed several for-sale models including this starship bridge interior.

The unfortunate salesman's necktie is textured with the Default Ground Texture.

Ironbear ( ) posted Tue, 11 February 2003 at 6:12 PM

Are you enjoying the starship bridge, Anthony? Good use of the scene. ;] shrug I haven't seen any reason to rule out non-erotic items from our store there, people need scene files and non erotic props as much as they do characters and other items. Have to have places for the characters to do stuff in. ;]

Hiya, Anthony! I'm glad you like the Bridge. I get a special satisfaction out of that since my avatar and favorite plaything these days is the Grey Alien I got from your site a ways back. In fact, if you check out my new site http://www.geocities.com/x2000ssecretbase/ he's right on the front page.:) Why is this (and my restaurant and tavern sets, as well) at Renderotica? Well, first off, obviously some of the members there are interested in more than erotic stuff. In fact, I've sold far more copies of the bridge there so far than at Animotions! But more than that, it's a matter of support. While I personally don't do erotic art, I respect others right to create whatever sort of art they like, to express themselves however they choose. And so by selling my products there, I'm trying to do my part to help keep the site going and maintain this haven for creative expression. Btw Anthony, I just posted a couple free extra textures for the main viewscreen on my site this afternoon, if you're interested. And I plan to offer more free textures there for all of my products in the future, so keep watching.;)

ohhh, don't rule out non-erotic items at Renderotica! Rather the sites have their own customers, and offering the non-erotic items in both stores just gets more exposure for them. But, if someone doesn't want to deal with looking at all the naughty erotica (I'm NOT one of those people lol) they can as well go to Animotions, I think quite a few still don't realise that its around, and its good to let people know its there.

Anthony Appleyard ( ) posted Wed, 12 February 2003 at 4:29 AM

if it is buried among a lot of leather and rubber and bondage etc stuff Sorry. I was not referring to objectionableness. merely to bulk for me to have to wade through adding to my phone bill on my slow dialup line. Renderosity freestuff has a useful option to list all its items one per text line on a big downloadable text file without images; it would be useful if Renderosity and Renderotica freestuffs and marketplaces all had this mode.

If Capt.Picard can have a Klingon in his crew, then I suppose that this ship's captain can have a Gerry Anderson UFO series alien in his crew (see first image).
