Subject: How to put an item up for sale?

virtuallyhistorical ( ) posted Wed, 12 February 2003 at 2:17 AM · edited Sun, 19 January 2025 at 9:12 AM

I've looked everywhere but can't seem to find information on how to put an item we have for sale at the Marketplace into the SALE department. (It's been on for three weeks with only four downloads, so I presume this is the right move). HELP! VH

whoops misread hehe... go to your Accounting page, then click the link "Advertising control room" scroll down to the bottom of the page and there is where you enter the sale information :)

Just a suggestion here but... you might try adding a larger/brighter image of the chair as image 2 or 3, showing the detail of the chair, and allowing them to see how well it will work with close up/day scenes. Another thing you might try doing is posting in the product showcase forum/gallery, with your chair in a scene ;) helps get people intrested in it. It looks like a nice chair but I can't see the detail very well myself in your image. Just some suggestions ;)

Thanks for all that. I think I'd come to the same conclusion and was about do to a new version of it. How does that work? Do I post a new version then remove the old? The new version has a brighter red leather. VH

a new picture? just click the 'edit' button under your product when your viewing your store. make any changes to the product that need to be done there, and then click the save button. you can add/replace images just by entering info into the image fields, if you want to leave a image in, say like your image #1, you would just stick the infor in for image 2 for the new image, but leave the info blank for image 1. If your doing a 'product zip' update (changing the accual product) you'll need to upload a new zip file and re enter the information for the product but stick 'UPDATE' in the Title so they know its a update for a existing product.

Thanks again. I've changed the images of the original product, which look much better, and put it up for sale. Do you know how long it takes before it appears at the SALE marketplace? VH

usually your sale will run on the day you set it up for ;) if its for the next day sometimes it starts a little late.
