No this is not true, you can export terrains like Bryce and .vob files. I have converted over to Vue from Bryce 4 and 5. I prefer Vue to work with, but there are some advantages to using Bryce. They are similar softwares although their interface is completely different. I love Vue's interface, easy to learn and work with. The renders are fast too. Open GL which is nice, but not that important to me. Can import direct .pz3 from Poser too. Byrce can not do that. But I am not talking Bryce down, I am just extremly happy with Vue and how it works for me. I suggest that you download the Demo of Vue and see if you like it. I still work with my Bryce, but not very often. If I were to compare work time, I work 95% in Vue and the other 5% in Bryce. No offense any Bryce users, it is still a good software, I just prefere Vue. Sharen
Hi thanks Sharon. I'm not sure what you mean by "not true". As far as I can tell the only .obj file I am able to export is a terrain or lattice. If I made a simple prop from primitives (square, blocks triangle so on) in Bryce and tried to export I couldn't. Before I purchased Bryce the specs said it could export obj's...partly true that is, only if that obj is a terrain or lattice.... Vue claims it can export obj files. Do I have to buy the program only to find out I can only export an obj file that is a "terrain" You see although I know Vue and Bryce are just renders....of landscapes I wanted to see if I could use Vue to make a few props as well. I'm not trying to put down Bryce or anything like that but just trying to take a look at what I can and can't do with both programs. Thanks for your input. I will be downloading the demo later today.
The Vue4 description offerred on Eon's website is a bit misleading. Vue can only export terrain and lattice, same as Bryce. Sorry about that. Vue and Bryce are render engines and that is what they do well. I use both programs but if you're looking to model props for export into other programs, I suggest a cheap modeller to start with. I began with Amapi and now I use Rhino. You can likely find Amapi 4-5 for less then $50.

Hi all, Presently I use Bryce 5 which it ok to use. But I've been thinking of buying Vue 4. I heard you can export any type of obj you want , unlike Bryce where you are limited to only exporting a terrain or lattice. Is this true? Have any of you converted over from Bryce to Vue. In your opinion what do you think of Vue vs Bryce? pros? cons? Thanks in advance
