Has anyone tried to MetaStream in Carrera yet? I tried the Metastream website, but currently they have not released MS3 for Mac. Thanks, <;)>Span

I have been waiting for well over a year for MC to e-mail me when the MAC stuff is ready. I figure if they have no interest in cross-platform "stuff" then I don't either.

Made my first MetaStream file tonight, it looks kinda nifty. Decided it would be nice to embed in a web page so maybe I could have a description on the same page. I thought to myself "hmm me, how do you embed a MetaStream file?" So I go to metacreations.com and from there to metastream.com and find a whole bunch of junk about how I can use metastream to improve my business. So after a while of digging and poking I find the source I need to embed the file. In the source they posted there's a line reading something like "please obtain a broadcast id". What's a broadcast id? More poking and searching. Hmm, a broadcast id is a code that you have to either purchase, or prove your are a non-profit entity to obtain. Then there's mention of a form to fill out online to get it. But there is no form, it says it will be up soon. So I have to email sales@metastream.com or something like that. I just want to make a page that I can use to show people on renderosity my work! Does it need to be so complicated?

I don't think it used to be before Metastream cut loose it's graphics.

MetaStream 3 requires a broadcast ID to be viewed. It's a way to get commercial content suppliers to pay. Carrara and RayDream, and the other legacy programs currently export MetaStream 2 or 1.x. As far as I know these will display without an ID. I currently display many MTS files on my website. Michael http://home.att.net/~karen.crisafulli

Could you post the code required to embed the metastream 2 files?

Michael_C ( ) posted Wed, 10 May 2000 at 1:45 PM

I sent some sample HTML code to you via the message system. I once posted code like this and the BBS system choked. I don't know what would happen here, but this is safer I think. Please note there are many options that can be used that I have not explained and that the camera settings have no relationship with the real world. I have a PDF from MetaStream I can e-mail you if you give me an address. Michael
