Subject: Problems with V3 continue.

Okay, I posted a problem I was having with V3 and the Cotton Casuals. I was assured that I must be selecting the V3 to V2 model, and must go back and select the V3 full model to get the clothes to work. Did that and it doesn't work. Neither does the makeup. Poser 4 on a Mac. Is there some .jpgs that need to become .bums or something I'm missing? Let me stress. I am 100% sure I am choosing the V3 model.

runwolf13 - You will need to apply the V3 texture first. Pose > V3 Maps > what ever texture you want to use. Then you can use the makeup. Don't have the clothes so I can't help you on that. If you were refering to my earlier answer. I was in a rush and forgot the spaces. The V3/V2 was not intended for your question. Sorry about that. Tashar 59

I don't have those clothing items either. But normaly for the cotton casuals to work you will first need to load the V3 active wear basics. Cotton causals is a texture set for it. If you have loaded the active wear basics you will need to select the right clothing item, before loading the matching texture from cotton casuals. Example: you load the bike short from active wear basics, and make sure it is selected, then you go to the pose library and select from the cotton casuals mat files the texture for the bike short. Then it should work. Mind you I'm on PC. I hope you will get it to work. :) Rynn.

Yes the cotton casuals are a texture map only, you need the clothing items. Marque

Load shorts, make sure the shorts Body is selected, apply cotton casual shorts MAT P4 if you have Poser 4.x or PP if you have Poser Pro Pack. As for the Starlet make-up, they sent out an update last night to the Mac users, making the names short.

Okay, I feel stupid about the Cotton Casuals. Duh, didn't by the clothes that I bought the textures for. Duh... call me stupid. But I'm still having a hell of the time with the make-up. I'll check for that Mac update for the textures. Thanks for your patience.

Well, I'm glad that one is sorted out. Last year I was starting out with Poser 4 also. I remember very well that I had some problems with all of that stuff too. There are actualy lots of clothing packs that are include only textures for clothing items that you need to buy in another pack. I think in most stores you will find somewhere in the item description a sentence that explains what is required to use the item you wish to buy. I sure hope you will find a solution for your other problem also. What kind of texture map are you using on V3? I have the V3 universal high res texture maps. I can load them, then I go to the V3 make up folder and load the desired face texture. Works perfectly. Ofcourse you are on mac. So hopefully the update will do the trick. Mmm, I better stop typing now. :) Rynn

BTW, what happens when you load one of the make up maps? Does poser give you an error message?

You can't just apply the makeup on no texture. You must also have bought one of the Daz texture maps as a base. Emily

When I get home from work later tonight I'm going to buy the hi-res texture map and the proper clothing article. Thanks for the help!
